No projects to show off today as I am getting ready for my monthly Wine & Design, but I wanted to show you some chairs that have made their way into my home. I saw this image over at Delight by Design…
…and LOVED that dining room. I loved the mix of old and new, the farmhouse table with the modern chairs, and decided to go for it. I found the chairs at Overstock for around $195 for a pair. It was a huge splurge as I am notmally dirt cheap, but I am in love! Plus, they are super easy to clean! They did need their bases screwed on and we had a couple that didn’t line up very well, but after much muscling and cussing, my husband and I were able to get them together without killing each other.
I also wanted a more open feel in the dining room, so I removed the sideboard that had been by the railing, and pulled the bench out from the table, and put it there. That way, when I have loads of kids over, I can still pull up the bench as needed.
Oh and while we are in the dining room, here is a close-up of the curtains I got a few weeks back from West Elm. They were having a sale on all curtain panels, so I excitedly placed my order!
And lastly, I found this pair of chairs on craigslist for $70! One is a rocker (which my kids love!). I plan on recovering them at some point (ie, when I have time next year, or in ten years…). But I loved the caning and was thrilled to take them home and replace the IKEA chairs that literally had my kids footprints on them. I cleaned the covers of those and soaked them in Oxy, and sold them right away! I am really happy with the “new” chairs.
Have a wonderful weekend, folks! We’ll be busy with Emmy’s first soccer game, a trip to IKEA, and some orders being dropped off… The boys are in Tennessee for the Vols game, so Emmy and I are having a ladies weekend!
