Happy Thursday! I am headed off to the barn this morning with our Lucketts team to load up a truck and haul it on over and then the plan is to sell it all. Easy, right? While I am doing that, I have an AMAZING tour to share with you today; it’s so good you will shout “Shamwow!” Caitlin from Desert Domicile is young, hip, and on trend- everything I think I still am. She just finished an incredible gallery wall you are going to love, along with everything else you see! Take it away, Caitlin!
Hi everyone! I’m Caitlin from Desert Domicile and I’m so excited to be sharing our home with you today! I’m still shocked that Cassie asked me to be part of her “It’s Eclectic” series because I’m not really sure if our home is tour ready haha
Anyway, we finished building our semi-custom home almost 2 years ago and while none of the rooms are 100% done, we’ve made a lot of progress on it so let’s start the tour!
Welcome to our little house in the desert!
Come on in 🙂
Our foyer is the first space you see when you walk in our front door.
Our Big Bang Theory inspired door makeover is still one of my favorite projects to date!
Sidenote: the art has been replaced!
Before we get too far into the tour, I’m going to warn you ahead of time about a common theme around our home – things never stay the same for long! 🙂
We have an open floor plan so our foyer leads into our living room (up next), dining room and kitchen:
We just “finished” (I used finished in quotes because a room is truly never done to me) our living room and I couldn’t be happier with the end result!
Our dining room is currently a work in progress but looked like this the last time I photographed it:
The console has been moved behind our couch and the art has been replaced. I plan on posting a room update soon!
Since our kitchen is the most finished room in our house, the only changes we’ve made have been cosmetic ones.
We replaced the builder basic lighting and painted our kitchen island.
We also hung a clock and an EAT sign and added some barstools:
We’d love to add a backsplash and some under cabinet lighting but those items are low on the priority list!
Our powder room was one of the first rooms we worked on after we moved in.
We painted it, replaced the lighting, and mirror, made some art and…
Built some DIY chunky wooden floating shelves over our toilet:
The hallway at the top of our stairs includes another set of chunky wooden floating shelves but these ones have sides!
Our loft is one of my favorite rooms in our home:
It’s a funky mix of DIY projects and accidental furniture purchases.
My boyfriend and I share a home office.
We wanted it to have double desks and represent the both of us.
Our mixed collection of accessories and action figures completes the geek-chic look of the room 🙂
So that’s where we are today! Stop by our blog some time to see additional room makeovers and DIY projects!
Thank you so much to Cassie for having us and for considering our home tour ready! 🙂
Thank YOU, Caitlin for sharing your gorgeous home with us! Can you all see why I adore it? Caitlin and I both love critters. And of course she blends vintage and modern so beautifully! Have a fabulous day!
