Happy Thursday! I am so excited about my guest today…. I have recently “met” Beth of DesignPOST and you know how sometimes you just click? Well we just clicked- right away we were making witty retorts to each other. I’d be sitting on the couch snickering while Chris was wondering what I was laughing it. It was most likely a joke about gold leafing our fingernails, and the humor would be lost on him, but we would get it. And that’s all that matters. She recently wrote about her husband on his birthday, and I felt like I could have written the same post about Chris. I actually read it aloud to Chris after saying to him, “You have got to hear this! It’s like I wrote it about you!” Aside from her sense of humor and big heart, Beth also has amazing style. You are going to love what you see….. Enjoy!
I know I am not the first to say this, but I am so thrilled to be sharing my home with all of Cassie’s readers! I have barely shared my home tour on my own blog, but when Cassie asked me if I’d be interested I couldn’t turn her down. I just “met” Cassie a few months ago and we quickly realized that we are long-lost twins. While I have no patience for painting and restoring furniture, I do love gold leaf, bangs, and being weird. Those are the things that bind us! I have loved getting to know her and I know there are only more similarities to uncover.
We bought our renovated bungalow 7 years ago and I have slowly been discovering my style along the way. I began blogging and decorating professionally a few years back and it has strongly influenced my design aesthetic, as well as helped me figure out what I love. There are still an endless amount of projects I want to accomplish, but my mentality is a finished house would be boring!
That’s where I have some more DIY art (ahem, scribbling)…
This is one of the only original rooms of the house and I really love all the old fixtures.
I added these mod sconces and they give it just the right amount of funk!
I am ready to come over and hang out on the porch! And lucky for me Beth lives maybe a mile away from my brother in law and his sweet wife! So guess what? I will be visiting Beth one day soon, and when I do, we are going to gold leaf all the things in Charlotte!
