Happy Tuesday! Hope you had an awesome weekend- I had what I consider one of my best weekends in a while… we didn’t do anything extraordinary, but just had a great time hanging out as our little family of four. Of course we did eat dinner Saturday night at Bryan Voltaggio’s Family Meal, so maybe some good eats helped. 😉 Anyhow, today I am really excited to be teaming up with some fellow bloggers/instagrammers (full list at bottom of post) to bring you a fresh hashtag that’s all about spending ZERO money while loving your home, and appreciating what you have. We’re happy to announce #HomeYouHave and each week we will challenge you to tackle a new area of your home, restyling and decorating using only items you have on hand (you can, of course, venture into nature as well!). This week we thought we’d start with a pretty common area, the living room!
My mantle had been pretty trite since Christmas and I was feeling uninspired… I didn’t want to create a Valentine’s mantle, so decided to create a nod to the holiday using pieces I already owned. (PS- these pictures were clear as a whistle until I uploaded them into wordpress…. if anyone has any thoughts on how to make the resolution better, let me know! I have tried various sizes and the same thing happens).
On the left side I placed a “Love” print we had hanging on the wall in this room when we first moved in, which is why it’s so faded, but I still love it! I added my DIY dipped candlestick, a vintage book titled “You” which I thought sounded romantic, and these little apothecary jars I purchased maybe 6 years ago on clearance at Anthropologie. The fringe has been hanging onto the mantle since the Fall- I just can’t let it go!
Just look at these books- they’re perfect!
Zooming out a bit, here’s how it looks in the living room, working off of the elements on the coffee table.
And now myself and my cohosts would love for you to play along through Friday. Restyle a space in your living room and use #HomeYouHave and we will feature our favorite on Sunday! Next Monday we will have a new theme for you- so be sure you are following me on instagram. Follow all hosts to play along.
Check out all of my cohosts on instagram!
