My New Part Time Job at J. Crew (This post contains affiliate links. Thank you for your support of this blog! I only promote items and brands I adore.)
With the holidays quickly approaching, a baby on the way, and all of the medical bills we’ve honestly accrued over the past year, I decided that in addition to my space at Sweet Clover, it would be beneficial to our family if I got a part time job. I mentioned it last week, but didn’t give you any details, so today I thought I would share. Many many many moons ago, before I had kids and before I was even married, I worked in retail management for companies like Abercrombie & Fitch, Williams-Sonoma, and finally J. Crew. To be honest, I learned quite a lot during that time about motivating people and communication, and really flourished when it came to handling visuals. I can’t say that A&F was one of the most positive moments in my life, and when I managed for W-S, I was a measly 22 years old, managing people who are older than I am now, and wasn’t taken very seriously. However, J. Crew was a positive experience for me. I really loved my store manager and district manager, and had always been a fan of the brand’s classic casual fashion. When it came time to consider getting a part time job, that was truly the only place that I wanted to work. It just so happens that we have a J. Crew Factory Store near us in Hagerstown, and I checked online to see if they were hiring for the holidays, and sure enough they were! I filled out the online application with all of my past work experience, including my management for them years ago, and was called in for an interview and hired a couple of days later. I started yesterday, and am excited to be going back to a place I love.
This job won’t take too much away from the blog, as I have sort of been taking it easier here anyhow, so have no fear! Since J. Crew is one of my favorite clothing brands and one that our whole family loves, I thought I’d take this opportunity to share some of my favorite finds for the whole family currently available at the factory store. (Emmy loooooves crewcuts and is so excited for me to have a discount!) Of course, as my little bump is developing, I am leaning towards looser fitting tops and the looser fitting dresses that I can wear with denim or leggings, so that’s reflected in my favorite women’s items. Yesterday as part of the training, we tried on different items to understand fits better, and I want to add one skirt to this list that I adore (not pictured below)…. It didn’t honestly look that awesome to me on the rack, but once I put it on I was in love! The wool sidewalk skirt feels amazing, and has an elastic waist which is perfect for my expanding one.

Chris is also a huge fan, so I’ve put together some of my favorite items for him. Chris loves J. Crew because he’s not a large man, and they offer slim fits in both pants and shirts which fit him well.
