I always tend to go way overboard on stockings and end up laying piles of stuff that didn’t fit on the hearth, but this year I tried to be extra good and not go too crazy. It’s just so easy to get wrapped up in all of the fun small (both useful and not!) things that abound this time of year. I’ve officially finished shopping for my kids and Chris this year and I thought I’d take a moment to share with you exactly what I am stuffing those stockings with this year. Since it’s only December 13th, you still have time to get some shopping in, so I thought it might be useful to you, and if not you can at least be nosy and see what I’ve bought. 😉 (I mean, I love to be nosy like that!) This post contains affiliate links which cost you nothing, but I earn a small commission from purchases made through them. I truly appreciate your support of my little blog!
Before I begin, I divided it into girls, boys, and men, but many of these can be intermixed…. I just put them in order of what I bought for whom in my own family.
Macaron Erasers– It’s a fad I don’t understand, but Emmy has hoards of erasers. We had these in the shop at J. Crew and I knew Emmy would love the fun shape and bright color, and the price was great!
Bear Slippers– I noticed Emmy eyeing all sorts of fun slippers, especially some polar bears. However, with dogs in the house those polar bears would be brown bears in no time, so I made an executive decision and ordered her these bear slippers from Lands End. Bonus- I scored them for 50% off this past weekend!
Taffy Scented Gel Pens– I know Emmy will love these! She loves to use gel pens to draw and write, and these smell like her favorite candy! Total win.
Wish– This children’s book looks like something she’d love. Our family loves all of the dog stories we’ve read like The Incredible Journey, Shiloh, Where the Red Fern Grows, and Pax. This seems to be in the same family and has great reviews.
Serafina & The Twisted Staff– This book is the second in a series. We listened to the audiobook of the first one, Serafina & The Black Cloak, this summer, and Emmy just loved the dark fantasy of the novel. She’s been anxious to get her hands on this book and I am sure she’ll dive right into it over the break.
Bath Bombs- My girl loves her bath bombs! I bought her two at Sweet Clover… one in sugar plum, and one in gingerbread, and I know those will also get put to use right away. I loved the smell of these two in particular.
Sparkly Emoji Earrings– I actually bought Emmy sparkly stars, but they’re all sold out, and these are the ones I think she actually loved more anyhow, as she pointed them out to me after I’d already purchased the others! These nerd emojis are just so fun!
Storm Trooper String Lights– When I spied these on Amazon I knew I had to get them. Sawyer loves Star Wars, and these lights can stay up in his room year round for his enjoyment!
Star Wars Beanie: I accidentally left this out of the graphic, but Sawyer loves to wear beanies in the winter months and I loved the black and gray jacquard knit beanie with At-Ats on it… he’ll love it!
Soccer Socks– Not the most exciting thing, but both of my kids were in need of new black soccer socks for the upcoming Spring season, so they are each getting a pair.
The Boundless– Sawyer has always loved trains and with a new baby brother coming, he’s had a resurgence in interest. This book sounds like something he’d enjoy about a journey on a fantastic train.
Nightmares– I had no idea that Jason Segel had written a kids’ book series! I love his sense of humor, and this series sounded dark, mysterious, but I know it will also be a fun read. Sawyer’s not as much of a reader as Emmy, so I am hoping this will be the start of a new series for him,
Soccer Tapestry– Sawyer lives to play soccer! His room, however, shows only his love of legos, Star Wars, and history… I decided he needed some soccer added to the mix and ordered this tapestry for above his bed. I can roll it up to get it in his stocking. (Bonus- it’s on sale right now as is everything at Society 6!)
Pokemon Alola Region Handbook– This book is not at all something I would pick, but he pointed it out to me and told me he’d love to get it when we were shopping for cousins at the book store last week.
Pokemon Socks– Sawyer tends to wear his socks until they have holes in them, so new socks are always a good idea! He’s really into pokemon, so these are perfect for him.
m&m Candy Cane– Every year the kids each get an M&M candy cane… Sawyer mentioned that he was looking forward to it, so guess that means I was buying them again!
Leather Luggage Tag– So I didn’t actually buy this, because I just saw it and wish I had ordered it as it would be so useful to Chris! I had to include it because it is such a great idea for a traveling guy.
Passport Holder– Chris will be traveling to Scotland at the end of next summer…. did I mention he’s going TWO WEEKS AFTER MY 40th and NO I AM NOT GETTING TO GO. Yep, I am bitter about it. Here’s a cool passport holder so I can pretend I am happy for you. And I realize my own stocking will be filled with coal for my sour attitude about it.
Fun Holiday Boxers– I wanted to get Chris the nutcracker boxers, but we didn’t have them at the store I work at in his size, so I got him penguins which aren’t available online. Seriously thought… nutcracker boxers! So fun!
Fun Socks– Chris said he needed new dress socks… I got him some boring plain ones, too, but had to get him some exciting fun socks as well!
Ghiradelli Peppermint Bark– This product is one of those things I get him only so that he can share them with me and I am not ashamed to admit it…. they’re SO good.
Striped Socks– Somewhere in the middle of “fun socks” and “dress socks” lie these snazzy striped socks.
Boxer Briefs– The most boring but useful element of Chris’ stocking would be these boxer briefs. He told me he needed underwear, so underwear he shall receive.
That is everything that I purchased this year for my family’s stockings! Every year I look forward to seeing their faces on Christmas morning as they go through their stockings, and this year is no different. I hope they love each item and that they find something that surprises them in there as well. What is the best stocking stuffer you have ever received? I always love getting fun pieces of jewelry in my own!
PS- I wanted to add in that today is the last day for ground shipping with Beautycounter, and we’ve also got some great stocking stuffers there for the women and now for the men as well in your life! This image shares some great ideas, and you can shop them all here!
