We are gearing up for the Sweet Clover Cabin Fever Sale this weekend, and let me tell you I felt like I was down to the wire this month. It seemed that all of my days off from work aligned with all of the snow and ice days and we had the hardest time getting over there to set up. Every time Chris and I would make plans to go, weather would make that impossible and we’d have to reschedule. Finally, we were able to haul some pieces up there last Friday and I made it back over there Tuesday to finish preparing. This month my colors are very different from my norm, but I was inspired by one of my finds as well as a major itch for Spring! Today I want to share with you what I’ve got going on in my space this month. This post will be shorter on words, and more about the eye candy.
First of all, let me show you where I drew my inspiration from… I found these hand painted panels at an auction I frequent. They aren’t really anything I would put in my own house, but I was really drawn to them and could see them as a fabulous boho headboard or mantle piece. They’d also make a great statement behind a sofa.
I placed them on top of my favorite new piece this month, a stunning midcentury dresser that got a quick and easy refresh I’ll be sharing soon. When I found it, it was missing one handle, and they are so unique I was coming up with a plan to paint them. However, Katie at CMB World Designs (an amazingly talented furniture flipper in the Fairfax, VA area) happened to have one on hand and was kind enough to send it to me. Check out those handles… there was no way I’d have been able to replace it, and am so grateful to her.
On top of the dresser, I added some fake roses in champagne in amber bottles to continue the colors of the panels and bring in a little Spring vibe.
I always love to get a shot that shows my space from the entry. This space is actually quite awkward and harder to shop, but I am excited to be moving into a better location for March.
While I love the panels and the inspiration they brought me to this space, my favorite vignette is along this wall with the desk. I’ve had this bison hanging for some time, but never the right “stuff” going on in my space to hang it with, but the colors from the panels are all represented and it gave me the opportunity to hang this and balance the sides with color. I love the completely vintage and collected feel of this area. Also, if you see that long painted stick… it’s a vintage bow and the arrows are just below!
I’ve also added some little pops of color in Spring touches around the space. I’ve been gathering some fun vintage planters…
And to me, these midcentury carved deer always feel a bit modern spring to me.
Emmy found this fabulous little bamboo bicycle planter. I am fairly certain she’s hoping it doesn’t sell.
Sap buckets always make great planters, and that vintage aqua Dansk pitcher makes the perfect Spring vase.
I love flipping through vintage houseplant books. I’ve flaked these with awesome and heavy marble fleur de lis bookends.
And finally, the last find for this month… I have to admit that I don’t love large peacock chairs as they always seem to awkwardly take up so much space, but the petite version has my heart. I found this guy with his green velvet seat and fell in love.
If you’re local, I would love to see you at Sweet Clover this weekend! I will be there on Friday. 🙂
