A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.  ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Second Neurotic’s Notebook, 1966
photo of a photo in my parents hallway!

In 8 Years, we have built a life, accomplished so much, and weathered many storms, metaphorical and not so metaphorical.  If you were there for my wedding, you know all about Isabel changing our entire wedding.  If you were there at the birth of our first child, you know all about Katrina.  And if you were there for our 1 year anniversary, you know all about Ivan.  We may have a track record for natural disaster, but together we are a natural team.  And in the past 8 years I have fallen in love with you time and time again.   Here are 8 of those times…
1.When you held Sawyer for the first time, and I saw what a wonderful father you would be right away.
2. When I told you I was pregnant with Emmy, and was petrified, as Sawyer was only 9 months old.
3. When I came home this Spring and told you I wanted to move and follow a dream, and you said, “Let’s go for it.”
4. When Emmy was sick with a stomach bug and you sat all day with her and a bowl in your lap.
5. When we went to Costa Rica and had the most amazing pre-children trip ever!
6. When you stepped up to be an assistant soccer coach last year.
7. When you started to fall in love with our new house like I already had.
8. When you asked me the exact right question when I came to you crying Friday night.

There are many more times I have fallen, and will be many more to come.  Thank you for being my rock and my best friend.  I love you!  Happy Anniversary!

PS- I have to tell you this story of when we first were dating.  I had so much happen to me in my college years, and so much of it was not good.  Chris is shorter than me.  This may seem like a random fact, but it is about to make sense.  We had begun to get serious, and I was scared.  I told Chris, “I just have so much baggage.”  And he replied, “I may be little, but I can carry a lot.”  And he has lived up to that promise.

Congratulations! It is inspiring when couples prove that marriage requires work and commitment – and falling in love over and over. I love the quote. And, you are beautiful Cassie!
