Affordable Boho Summer Fashion with Katie Grace

Happy fifth of July! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday weekend. Ours started out pretty rough, so we ended up just spending some quality family time together around the fire pit with sparklers as we watched the fireworks in Middletown, out to dinner and the movies to see Finding Dory, and my family loved it when I suggested we purge and organize the playroom. When I am stressed I tend to stress-clean, so I scrubbed grout and cleaned out my craft closet and organized that as well. Not the most exciting weekend, I admit, but it was just what I needed.  Before we headed out for the night Sunday, Emmy had the chance to play photographer as well.  I have been wanting to tell you about my friend Chrissie’s new shop, The Katie Grace Boutique, but I needed a photographer and Emmy was thrilled to take the job.  She selected earrings, placement, and poses for the shoot.  Thanks to her, I can finally share an amazing source for affordable boho summer fashion, Katie Grace.

I “met” Chrissie years ago through blogging.  We both share a passion for refinishing furniture, and Chrissie paints some of the most beautiful pieces around.  Recently, Chrissie and her two daughters launched their online clothing boutique, Katie Grace.  Right away I knew it was a shop that I was going to be frequenting with their selection of bohemian, flowy and comfortable yet feminine and chic tops and dresses.  Because I am a huge fan of Chrissie’s and loved what she was creating with her daughters, I approached her about collaborating.

I am going to share some of the pieces that I received.  FYI, there are so many more on the site now that weren’t there before, so you’re gonna have to race me for them!

My absolute favorite top that I ordered is the Crochet Top Sleeveless Tunic, which is only $29.  The weight is light and breezy, which is a must in our humid east coast summers.crochet top sleeveless tunic from katie gracePinThe crochet details really make this piece and give it a vintage feel.crochet trim sleeveless tunic from katie gracePinI like to wear this with my denim cut offs and either flip flops or flats, which is all I wear all summer long anyhow.  PS- Super excited to finally have some little sungold tomatoes!  Yum!Crochet Trim Sleeveless tunic from Katie GracePinWhen I spotted the Handkerchief Blouse, I had to have it! I love the mix of patterns and it’s also available in blue.  Since I figured I’d wear it with denim, I opted for the pink.  It’s priced at $26 and is a great casual summer piece, but I think will transition into Fall well even with the right layers.Handkerchief blouse from Katie GracePinThe Pom Pom Trim Sharkbite Tunic works well with leggings and also makes a great cover up.  For me, it was the colorful pom pom trim that sold me.  The smallest size available is a M, so I went with that, but the oversized fit works with this style.  This one is priced at $36.  Check out how well our herb garden has grown in!  It makes me so happy…. Our dill did not do too well, but everything else seems to be thriving.Pom Pom Trim Sharkbite Tunic from Katie GracePinIn this picture I am pretty sure I am telling Chris, “Oops,  I just knocked off a green tomato!”  If you look closely you can see the little green guy on the ground.  Pom Pom Trim Shakbite Tunic from Katie GracePin

The Katie Grace Boutique has some gorgeous dresses and I selected the Eyelash Hem Dress, which is only $36.  In my younger years I would have worn it as pictured, but it’s a little short for me (I am 5’7″) so when I wear it I actually wear it with leggings.  But I wanted you to see it as a dress.Eyelash Hem Dress from Katie GracePinThis dress has such great detail and could really be used for a more casual get together, or an evening out.

The Fuschia Print Maxi is one of the most comfortable skirts ever!  I’ve already worn it several times, and love to pair it with a black tank or tee.Fuschia Maxi from Katie GracePinThis skirt just screams summer to me and is so easy to wear with a comfortable foldover waistband.Fuschia Maxi from Katie GracePinOh, and I had to show you this…. my little photographer prepping the area for photos…IMG_0068PinAnd of course I can’t not be a goof… I did this for all of a second but Emmy was quick with her fingers.  I just don’t take myself very seriously.IMG_0082Pin

I also wanted to show you some of the awesome leggings that The Katie Grace Boutique offers.  I LOVE wearing leggings… so comfy!  They have a great selection and they’re all super soft and high waisted, which I prefer.  The cropped leggings are all only $9!!!  Pictured below are the Blue Tile Capri Leggings with the Oversized Shoulder Detail Tunic.Blue Tile Capri Leggings and Shoulder Detail Tunic from Katie GracePin

Blue Tile Capri LeggingsPinI have one more piece to share with you, and it’s one of my other favorites, the Floral Poets Blouse.  This one is romantic, light and breezy, and so very me.  I only brought a few outfits with me to the beach a couple weeks ago, and this top as well as the crochet trim top made the trip.  Here I am with my kiddos on my last night at Seabrook, sporting the poets blouse.Floral Poets Blouse from Katie GracePinAnd finally, I want to thank my photographer extraordinaire, Emmy!  She was really interested in the whole experience and says she would like to start her own blog about fairy gardens, doll houses, and her messy room.  (She wants to reveal the truth and put me to shame!)  Photography camp awaits her in just a few weeks, and she’s thrilled for the opportunity to learn more.  She’s interested in taking photographs of nature as well.Emmy as photographerPinThank you so much to The Katie Grace Boutique for working with me.  I hope you will check them out and that their site will become a staple for you like it has for me.  I know where I will be doing my Fall shopping, too!

OH my gosh, love the outfits (especially the boho shirt that comes in blue!). The new profile picture is adorable and you should totally wear that dress as is – you aren’t too old! Beautiful!

ps. Have you heard of Creative Live? Emmy might like it. They offer lots of creative courses over video for free. I’ve done quite a few photography sessions and they’ve been great.

Love all these looks!! My fav is the Pom Pom shirt! I wasn’t really a Pom Poms on a shirt person before, but it looks super cute as a long tee.
