Bedroom Inspiration, Part Deux

March 28, 2011 by Cassie 28 Comments

OK, so Friday I shared with you some images of bedrooms all using gray, white, and an accent color.  Tangerine was my favorite!  I still love it, but I showed my blog post to Chris, and he hated it.  Not even mildly disliked.  Hated and could not possibly live with.  Tangerine- no longer an option.  Or the yellow as he felt almost as strongly about that.  So I laid in my bed Friday night with a glass of wine (red wine and white duvet, but somehow I managed…) and pouted came up with plan b.  I reached for my wine glass, which sat on my nightstand, and I caught a glimpse of my favorite print.

Do you see what I see?  A white background, gray text (in the “and”), and a gorgeous dusty aqua with a punch of citron.  At that moment, inspiration hit me!  Or maybe it was a slight buzz, but either way it made me happy.  So that is going to be the color scheme.  I was actually at the paint store today, believe it or not, and picked up some swatches.  Oh yeah, baby.

Tranquil blue and golden delicions are singing to me!  And Golden Delicious just so happens to be my favorite apple.  No joke, so it was meant to be.  And then, my next stop was this little thrift shop in town where I found this aqua/teal pillow for $5.

And I am already digging the punch of color it is adding to the room.

I also like that the doily style of it mimics the curtain patterns.  And I have made some other plans about the bed.  I mentioned doing an upholstered headboard, but then had another idea.  More to come on that later. πŸ™‚

Whoa, whoa, whoa. There are several coincidences going on here. Golden Delicious is my fave apple too. AND, while I was in chicago in Feb, I painted a chair for my sister in “sweet vibrations”. No kidding! If you want to see a picture of it on furniture, lemme know!
