Book Review: DIY Wood Pallet Projects

I have this ridiculously amazing friend, Karah.  Karah can build things with no fear, tile like nobody’s business, flip houses, is running the American Odyssey Relay with me next Spring, and on top of it all, she has written a book! And did I mention she’s funny?  I was honored when Karah asked me if I would review her book, DIY Wood Pallet Projects: 35 Rustic Modern Upcycling Ideas to Personalize Your Space, which was just released last week.

This book is filled with loads of useful information one needs before one starts working with pallets; there are answers to questions that I’ve had, like how do I know if it’s a good pallet to use?  Sure, I’ve seen them around, but how do I know it’s not bug infested?  Karah answers all of those types of questions.  All of the basic information you need to get started is laid out for you, so ANYONE can do these projects; not just someone who already has a clue.  I could do these projects.

The projects in this book are well photographed, with pictures for each step to make it easier for both the visual learner (which is me, skimming steps and following pictures!) and the person who reads all the steps.  Karah’s explanations of each step are written in a way that is easy to follow and understand.  Her laid back personality comes through in her writing.

There are projects for all areas of the home, different seasons, and all are easy to follow!  One of my personal favorites is this whale…

I am so glad I had the opportunity to review this book and so proud of Karah for putting together such a well written, well photographed book filled with easy to follow tutorials!  This would make a great Christmas gift for your crafty or DIY inclined friends and family!

Congrats to Karah for all of her hard work paying off!  Be sure to follow along Karah’s house renovation adventures (including an amazing pallet wall!) at The Space Between!

That looks right up my alley! I am not sure I would attempt many of the projects (just bc I would rather look at pretty things than make them myself!) but I would love to have that book on my coffee table. A replacement for the ever-present Domino book?! Can I get an amen??
