Happy Friday! I am so excited to once again be participating in the Blogger Styling Home Tours, this time the Spring Edition, hosted by Lindsay of The White Buffalo Styling Co. (You can click here to begin the entire tour route at her place). If you’ve been following the week’s tours, I am sure you have been as blown away as I have been. It’s a tough act to follow on the final day of the tour, but I will do my best!
If you are hopping over here from Dream Green DIY, welcome! Carrie is just the cutest and has such great style and beautiful photography, and I always love her use of color.
This year, life is so busy with kids activities, training for a relay, and a growing vintage shop, so I decided to keep my tour rather simple and just bring in some natural touches (mostly grocery store flowers, if I am being honest!). Our living room has recently been rearranged, and is my current favorite room, so I thought I would start there.
The navy sofa is the latest addition, and it is the stuff of my dreams. I also moved the bookcases to this wall and placed them on either side of our sofa table.
The bookcases are styled with whites and golds, books grouped by color, and photos and other special memories and gifts.
To bring in some Spring and fresh greenery, I added a palm to the corner of the room (pray for its life in my hands), and some green hued hydrangeas.
The quote on the chalkboard is one that I found a while back perusing pinterest, and I don’t have the source, but I thought it was hilarious. I am always running races but frankly I never love it…. so this quote just made me laugh. The canvas was also a new addition and it is a photo of my family that makes me smile every day.
On the opposite side of the room is the “man couch” and “man chair” where my husband sits. But to be honest, the kids love sitting in the leather chair more than anyone.
The mantle is the centerpiece of the room, and also where I bring in the most seasonal touches. I kept it very simple by adding fresh hydrangeas in some recycled glass bottles, and my stripped and dipped log candlesticks, which I added Spring candles to. I also talked about the vintage sign that I use as a fireplace screen when we aren’t using the fireplace any longer here.
I just love the simplicity of the mantle this time around.
And of course, my deer and disco ball stay around most of the time because you always have to be ready for a party.
In the dining room I kept the theme of simplicity going by adding forsythia branches from our yard. The Lacefield Marrakesh drapes always add a great touch of elegance to this space.
On the table, I’ve placed a vintage crate with the branches in a vintage enamel pitcher, and some other dining accessories like napkins and our s&p shakers.
My favorite part of this room is the gallery wall and I love how it plays on the moody gray walls, buuuuuuuut….. a change may be brewing.
Oh, and if you want to see a “fancier” version of the dining room dressed for Spring, you can check out this tablescape I did last month.
The dining room opens right to the kitchen, and again, I’ve just added a couple bouquets of fresh flowers to bring in Spring. These grocery store tulips in a glass pitcher just scream Spring to me and add a great touch of color.
Our kitchen is one of my favorite spaces, and is almost always ready for beach weather with its recycled glass backsplash. I added a bouquet of my favorite large white mums and a fun pear towel… pears are one of my favorite fruits!
The mums make me happy each morning when I make my coffee.
The kitchen is a favorite space around here, as you can see…. we are all at ease here.
The last space I want to share with you today is our porch, which becomes our family hangout as soon as warmer evenings are here.
By our front door I have a bright bench and I change the pillows for each season.
But the area that we spend our time in is on the other side of our wrap around porch.
I recently found the indoor/outdoor pottery barn rug on craigslist and decided to go for it and bring loads of color to the porch. We’re ready for margarita night! (And you can spy an upcoming project in the background, too!).
I hung a bird cage my mom gave me a couple years ago over the table and added candles. I am looking forward to lighting this up this Spring!
I recently brought home some crates from the shop and used them to store our firewood. We continue to use our firewood year round as we spend time around our fire pit, so we need access to it.
And that’s it for now! Thank you so much to Lindsay for organizing this tour and inviting me to be a part of it. Now be sure to head on over to visit my friend Jennifer of Dimples & Tangles from here. If you haven’t before been there, you will love Jennifer’s amazing use of color!
And if you want to check out the entire tour, here is a list of all the participants.

Happy weekend, friends!
