We made it to Friday! In May, when activities are at their peak, that truly feels like an achievement. This weekend they aren’t stopping either as we head into a soccer tournament. However, Chris is handling this one solo (well, with my parents’ help) because I am leaving this morning for a weekend adventure with one of my best friends from Maryland. This weekend will be my first time leaving Wilder now that he is fully weened and although I am ecstatic for a girls’s weekend with no real pressing responsibilities, I admit I am a little sad that we’re at that point. BUT MOSTLY I CAN’T WAIT! Anyhow, not much has happened on the home front in the way of projects lately because we’ve all been busy with the end of school year activities and we’re also working behind the scenes to finalize our kitchen details. I am hoping to share the plans with you in the next couple of weeks. As we’ve been nearing the end of the planning phase, I’ve finally started to think about the details, and I’ve been shopping around for knobs and pulls. Today, I am going to share with you some of my favorite affordable options in Budget Find Friday: Kitchen Cabinet Hardware. (This post contains affiliate links).
Black Bar Pulls / Round Black Knob / Inverted Dome Black Knob / Black Square Edge Pulls / Black Cylindric Knobs / Black Rectangular Bin Pull / Gold Bar Pull / Gold Faceted Knob / Stone Knob / Mixed Metal Sphere Knob / Curved Gold Bar Pull / Gold Bin Pull / Gold Ridged Cylindrical Knob / Gold Round Knob / Gold Squared Bar Pull / Gold Modern Bar Pull with Coordinating Knob
I have not yet decided on black or gold hardware so I am going to show you some of my favorite finds in each finish, as well as a couple of fun additions. I also want to point out something you may have noticed. I only shared one knob that isn’t round-ish, and the reason for that is that square or rectangular knobs in my experience tend to always go a little off kilter after use and drive me crazy! I prefer knobs that never look wonky. The one that I did share with you has little teeth that grab onto the surface and prevent it from wiggling. 🙂
Black bar pulls are classic, and these come in all sorts of sizes so you can easily use them no matter how large or small your cabinet. I also really love the square edge style of pull, but with a soon to be toddler I’ve ruled these out, afraid of him running his head into a sharp corner.
Bin pulls are another classic and have been used in kitchens for centuries. I love the more modern lines of these black rectangular pulls. I will most likely opt for a simple bar pull, but I had to include these because they’re beautiful and a steal. They’re basically just $3.65 each.
As I mentioned above, I am all for round when it comes to knobs. Here are a few of my favorites that are perfect for a tight budget.
These simple black knobs are a steal and we used something really similar from the same brand in our hall bathroom. I’ve been really happy with the quality and style and would definitely use them again.
These black inverted dome knobs have a fabulous modern shape and are regularly carried at Target. I used them in my own master bathroom, ordering them when they were on sale. If you plan to use them, I recommend waiting for a sale, because it seems to me that these deals often cycle through there and you just have to be patient.
Lastly for the black knobs, I also am a big fan of a modern cylindrical shape… simple and clean. These are less than a dollar each! You can’t beat that.
Now let’s move on to check out some of these gorgeous gold pieces. As I mentioned, I haven’t yet decided on color… I am leaning towards black, but I’ve made some design changes this past week that have me second guessing that choice.
If I decide on gold, I love these simple gold bar pulls the most for my own home. However, these curved pulls and these rectangular pulls also caught my eye.
Just as with black, gold bin pulls are always gorgeous as well. I had not considered these until I recently saw them in a stunner of a kitchen that stopped me in my tracks.
When it comes to the knobs, again I generally prefer a modern and simple shape, and I found a few that fit the bill. These simple brass knobs are what I would choose if I were to have knobs as well as pulls. They are classic and clean enough to read modern as well. These faceted knobs are not as clean lined, but I love the linear interest they add.
If you’ve clicked on any of the links so far, you know that Amazon is one of my favorite budget resources. However, and this may surprise you, Anthropologie is always one of my favorite places to shop for hardware. While they are well known as a rather pricey retailer, they’re also well known for their amazing sales. Hardware consistently gets marked way down, and I only shop the sale section. Every once in a while, they’ll have a special promotion with 50% off their existing sale prices, and that is the best time to shop there! Currently their sale items are an additional 25% off, so still a very good deal! These gorgeous stone knobs with the gold semicircle backplate are unique and would add a great natural but modern touch to a space. The best part is that they are currently on sale for just $4.95 each with an additional 25% off. I also love the rose quartz knobs they currently have on sale as well as the mixed metal spheres I featured in my graphic. You can also find simpler knobs there such as these ridged bronze cylinders which are also just $4.95 each plus the additional discount.
Lastly, one of my favorite hardware sources is D. Lawless Hardware. I’ve used their knobs and pulls for over 10 years now and am always blown away by their prices. I’ve used this collection in a midcentury dresser I made over last year, and it would make excellent kitchen cabinet jewelry with its color and unique but simple shape. I just realized I never shared that particular dresser with you, so here’s a little sneak peek and I promise to share it soon, excited I have a furniture makeover for you! 😉
Kitchen cabinet hardware can be really overwhelming to shop for if you aren’t sure where to look or what exactly you’re looking for. Hopefully this post has helped you find some great choices to suit your budget.
