China Cabinet Reveal

Remember the china cabinet I picked up last week for free? No? Well, let’s refresh your memory…
Pin
Now you remember? I hemmed and hawed over this one. I just couldn’t decide what I wanted to do with it. I thought about mustard yellow with wood interior, but then recalled one I did like that before that took a while to sell. I thought about white with a pop of color inside, but it just wasn’t singing to me. So, in the end I decided on gray with a white interior. I went to Benjamin Moore and bought Platinum Gray in the Aura paint and primer low VOC (my new fave!). While I was there I also picked up a great oops color, and a can of Nantucket Fog, – the color I loved, and the name is just dreamy! I got home, and I had already primed the cabinet not knowing yet how I was going to paint it. So the Aura went on beautifully in one coat, just needing touch-ups here and there. Once the gray was on the outside, I changed my mind about the inside, and decided to use the Nantucket Fog. When it was all painted, I distressed it lightly, and went over it with a Cabot milkweed stain just to keep it soft. Here it is now. Did I make the right color choice? You decide!

Love the colours, I like to think I am pretty experienced at picturing a piece of furniture in new colours but wow this one looks like a totally different piece, mainly due to the fact you can hardly see the detail on the doors while they were dark, I think. Well done 🙂
