YAY! It’s Friday! And this week that means 3 things…. 1. You made it to the weekend. 2. It’s the third Friday of the month so Sweet Clover is open for awesome vintage shopping and this month we are having a sale! 3. I am on top of it and continuing the Click It series!
Before I get to my favorite links this week, I want to share with you why this week has been unexpectedly crazy! A couple of weeks ago a friend with contacts at the DIY network sent me some information on a production company that was looking for filming locations in the DC area for their show, I Want That, which is about different products. I decided to send them my info- they were looking for photos of the home and to know more about me, so I just sent them links to the blog (great shortcut!). I received an email back from them that they loved my home and wanted to shoot here, and asked what days I had available the next week (which was this past week). We set it all up, and I made sure the house was clean and tidy. I needed to have three adults (one per product demo) so I recruited my business partner, Sarah, and my relay-running neighbor to come help me out for the day. Oh, and I should mention even Jake got to participate! And the crew loved him. 🙂
Here I am just before they interviewed me about my product. My friend told me I looked nervous in this shot, but I wasn’t- just waiting for them to get the lighting right! I actually wasn’t nervous throughout this whole process. I think I see more TV in my future.
And here’s Sarah, being filmed at that very moment!
All in all, it was a long day (9-7:30), but it was a blast and I would do it again in a heartbeat! The kids and I learned a lot, and they are excited to be on TV (airing around January we think, but I will keep you posted!). For me the highlight of the day was when the crew was chatting about how far they came to my house and they told me they normally stay within 20 miles of DC, but after seeing my house and family they just had to come out here and shoot. That comment pretty much made my entire week! I am honored that they thought my home was worthy, and can’t wait to see it on TV!
And now onto the links that are worth your click this week!!!
1. I adore this mountain mural from Wills Casa. And the fact that it is attributed to Ron Swanson just wins them more points.
2. This bedroom from this tour on Houzz… Swoon!
3. I want to try this broccoli and grape salad! YUM!
4. I love the moody exterior of this home featured on Apartment Therapy.
5. And finally, Rene told me how I can save my fiddle leaf fig from utter doom. Wish me and my fig good luck!
