A Colorful World: Chocolate Divinity with Michelle from Emerald Cove

Today I have Michelle from Emerald Cove here to talk about chocolate!!!  Yum!  Except she is not going to talk about chocolate food, but rather using this rich color in your decor and design.  If you haven’t been to Michelle’s blog, you need to go visit her.  Her bedroom is so swoon-worthy, and I am loving all the changes she is making to her home.  She has a very beachy and beautiful home, and a heart of gold to top it off.  Enjoy!

Hi my name is Michelle from Emerald Cove and I am so excited to be here today with Cassie to talk about CHOCOLATE!!

Ok, not that kind of chocolate but that does look soooo good!!!
The chocolate that I am talking about is the kind that we can submerse ourselves in within our home, chocolate brown.
Brown has been said to evoke a feeling of wholesomeness, orderliness and gives us a feeling of a connection with the earth.
Chocolate brown can be used a main color in a room with various colored accents.

Paired with white it gives a room a richness but keeps it light and airy,

Chocolate brown was used throughout the home which added a dramatic touch to a comfortable style.

You can also use chocolate brown as accent pieces such as furniture,

or in smaller bites such as pillows or throws.

Of course my favorite color combination with chocolate brown would be a beautiful blue!

I hope that you can find some areas in your home that chocolate brown can serve your senses, whether it be strong and bold or subtle hints.
Thank you so much Cassie for letting me share some ideas for indulging in some chocolate without the calories! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yum and yum! I would like a piece of chocolate cake in room number 2 or 3 please. You are right, chocolate is a very clean color & a nice contrast to white.

I think I have a bit of a love affair with chocolate to tell you the truth! lol
These photos are so rich in colour and you’re right they are very relaxing!
I used to love brown years ago, and then kind of got sick of it, but in the last few years, my love for it revived.
It looks especially striking with the blue..even in clothing!
I love these looks..but can you imagine, being reminded of chocolate everyday in your colour scheme?! lol
Love these chocolate rooms..I mean, brown rooms. lol
    Yummy!
I am now following Primitive and Proper..cute blog!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Much love & giggles,

Well you had me at chocolate of course ๐Ÿ™‚ But I also love chocolate brown to anchor a room, it seems less stark than black depending on the look I’m going for.

I love it when it’s paired with white. It just goes to show you that chocolate doesn’t not have to be heavy and dark looking. Even though it’s a dark shade the rooms all still look light and airy! I think it can be used like black, and really ground a space.

Thanks for making this post calorie free ๐Ÿ™‚ Brown is such a great color to cozy up a space. I like it paired with cream or blue, as well! The walls in the second room really work and draw your eye to the windows! Gorgeous!

Have a super day, Michelle and Cassie!

Such pretty rooms! I love rich chocolate brown. I think it’s a neutral and softer than black. I wear a good bit of brown too. And of course it’s yummy to eat! (I gave it up for Lent!)
