I am so excited to have Rene from Cottage and Vine here today to discuss black, which always adds a classic and elegant touch to any room. A little while back, Rene painted her bathroom black, and I was smitten. See for yourself, as she included it in her guest post! Thanks, Rene, for coming today to talk about beautiful, timeless, elegant black.
Thanks for inviting me to be a guest in this fun series Cassie!
I must admit that when Cassie first asked/suggested black to me, I was somewhat stumped. After looking around my house, I realized this suggestion wasn’t so surprising after all. Cassie, maybe you know me better than I do.
While many colors come and go, classic black is here to stay. Black is such an important color in interiors. It is so important that we often refer to other colors as “the new black”. When used as an accent color, black adds weight to a space and can also add a good bit of boom boom pow where you need it. And nothing says drama like black walls.
Last, but not least, my next project using black will most likely be in the staircase. I have loved this look for some time now and need to carve out a day when no one is home and paint the rail black.
Thanks again for having me over Cassie!
