I am so excited to have Lisa from Serendipity Chic Design here today to talk about a fun color… Orange! Lisa is one of hte most down to earth bloggers out there. I was born and raied in New England, where Lisa lives, and felt an instant kinship with her that has developed into a friendship. Besides blogging, and painting furniture, we also share a love for cheesy 80’s music (Cue “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and roll to Lisa).
How excited am I to be here! Thanks so much Cassie for having me. Being asked to join the colorful world series really got me to thinking about, “colors”. I LOVE to decorate bright, bold, eclectic, and I guess you could say unusual. I am a fan of jumping out of the box and doing things many never would. (Like painting my bedroom black….LOL!!) I guess you could say, I like to be different. That is why I chose the color orange when Cassie asked me to participate in the colorful world series. People either love the color or hate it. For those of you who aren’t to fond of it, I am here to change your mind!
So without further adieu, let me introduce you to my take on……..
Everything orange makes me happy! Clothing, food, home decor, and of course my spring and summer flowers. I can’t wait for the day to come when I can get out in the garden again. In the meantime, here are some photos of last year…..
Now onto design..
Eclectic pops of orange can add drama to any room. Whether it is shabby, french country, whimsical, or in the case of my first few photos……RETRO! This is definitely the most orange room in our home. It belongs to our son Reece. He has quite a pad for a 12 year old.
Sami’s room is very PINK, she does have accents of orange throughout her bedding though.
Although I have recently changed the decor in our bath/laundry room, it did have orange accents throughout. Orange flowers in the Amy Butler fabric, a vintage orange scarf as a curtain tie, and orange interior painted on my chandelier flowers.
Additional “orange” throughout……
Vintage scarf with vintage tole pin….
I love to use vintage saucers under my flower pots for water drainage.
There you have it, my take on orange. Like I said, you either love or hate it. Have I changed your mind if you were on the negative side of decorating with this color?
Have a great day!
PS…
Quick note that today is the LAST DAY to get in your projects for the monthly DIY contest party!
