I am participating in a blog hop this week where several awesome bloggers have created Christmas decor using items they already had on hand! These projects are quick and easy, and since the items were from our stash or home…. somewhat free! If you are hopping over here from Ciburbanity, welcome!
Last week I decorated my home for Christmas (you can check it all out here), and because of a new puppy we moved our usual dining room tree up to our master bedroom. The only problem was I didn’t have a topper for it. I used feathers last year and just wanted something different.
Well a year and a half ago when I was visiting my talented friend Kelly in Georgia we went to a couple of yard sales and I took home two paper mache deer- you know the ones I am talking about…. they are like standard Christmas decor. They’ve sat in my garage since them collecting dust, and I thought that one of these guys would be just perfect!
It was really very easy. I simply beheaded him, leaving a long neck.
Off with his head!
And then I used Mod Podge to glitter his antlers. And finally, I shoved the top of the tree up his neck and voila! I was done! You may have gotten a little peek at it in yesterday’s tour.
And here’s a closer look.
And while I overwhelmed you with photos yesterday, today I am keeping it short and sweet!
Now head on over to Cuckoo4Design to see what Julia’s created!
And if you want to make sure you don’t miss anything, here’s the line up for the week!
