DIY Vintage Book Page Banner

A few years ago I was so much craftier than I am now… I am not sure if it’s time, or that I am spending my creative energy solely on Sweet Clover these days or what, but I have not taken a lot of time lately to be “crafty.” And I sort of miss it. Last week I got together with a girlfriend and along with our kiddos we had a “clay” craft night and it was so good for my soul.  And a few weeks prior to that I revisited a project I did a while back, a DIY book page banner.  (Click here to see the banners I created waaaaay back).

This time I found an adorable vintage animal book at a yard sale.  I loved the colors and scale of the animals and thought it would make a great banner.  My kids are a bit big for decorations like this, but my good friend (whose girls’ room we are wallpapering- did you cast your vote yesterday?) has two boys under the age of 3, and I knew I could make the banner and it would not go to waste in their home.  Her older son just loves animals.

A adore this! SO clever and darling! And I think it’s all of the above. Between work and kids there’s no more time for me to be crafty.

Oh my gosh. I have the most perfect book for one of these but I just can’t bring myself to cut it up since it’s from my childhood. Must find another!

This banner is adorable! It would also be awesome in a nursery or something like that.
