I am so excited to share this master bedroom project with you today, a DIY wall mounted desk.

DIY Wall Mounted DeskPin

We’ve been making progress in our master bedroom, and we’ve had this one little dormer nook that has sat unattended to.  It actually functioned perfectly as the place we would throw our extra pillows before we went to bed.  But it had so much more potential and I knew it.

At one point in time I had a little bench in it that fit perfectly, but I never say on that bench.  I decided that it would make a perfect little desk/vanity nook.  For now I have it set up as a desk, but I have some plans for this space in the future which will make it more of a vanity for myself.

I actually used it before we went on vacation and truly enjoyed the view out the window.  And while I worked, I put my little photographer to work.  Emmy took this picture (with some guidance from me) and I think she did a mighty fine job.  She’s currently booking weddings and senior portraits if you are interested.DIY wall mounted deskPin

I was also able to take some of the special art from the gallery wall I dismantled in our room and place them here for my viewing pleasure, along with some Homegoods never-die succulents, aka plastic.

This desk was very simple to create, and I am sharing all of the details on how I did it over at ehow.

I have a few more tricks up my sleeve with this project to make it a little more personal but for all of the basics on how to create a wall mounted desk of your own head to ehow!

And can I get an Amen for checking Monday off the list this week!  WOW, getting back to work from vacation is a challenge.  I survived and that’s the best I think I could have hoped for.  Here’s hoping Tuesday goes a little more smoothly….

Love it–what a great use of that space! That’s one thing I miss about our Cape Cod…all the funny little dormers and whatnot. Everything is very squared off here 🙂

I love the idea of a built in desk by a window. Such a great little view. And you look so cute there, too.

This is absolutely beautiful! I love pine wood myself, but what amazes me is how well does the chair go with it. May I ask under what words would I need to search to find a chair like this? Is this all wood? What’s the word for the patterned surfaces? 🙂
