Dollhouse Therapy Month Two: Bedroom Plans

Did you guys check out some of the Dollhouse Therapy links last week and on instagram (search #DollhouseTherapy)?  There is so much mini cuteness out there!  It’s a whole new world of creativity and one that Emmy and I are having fun exploring.  We are kicking off month two today and your hosts (me, Alice, Anu, Emy) are all sharing plans for their spaces they plan to complete in May.  Over here, we’re going to be working on finishing the bedrooms!  The “kids’ room” is actually pretty close to being complete, but the master bedroom is another story.  We have a bed, so that’s progress!  I do have some major plans though and am sharing those today.

Let’s start with my master bedroom!  I was greatly inspired by this bedroom I have drooled over forever…  the mural and that brass bed make me weak in the knees!

So the bedroom on the left side of the mood board is my big inspiration, and the rest is made up of little pieces I plan to bring in. The mural is a big piece of this picture, and while I don’t have a mural, I have a great black and white woodsy wrapping paper from Ikea a couple years ago that will do the trick.  I purchased this brass bed (but I found mine on Ebay).  I am hoping to create my own DIY miniature version of vintage pendant lights, and I already have a dresser just like this one I found on etsy.  For textiles, I’ll be using some of the keepsake calicos that Joann has- I already used some to make the pillows in the living room as well as the shower curtain.  I have some white faux fur laying around, too, so a white flokati rug will be perfect for under my dolls’ little feet.  I am pretty excited about the eclectic bohemian vibe this space has going on.  If I could shrink myself down, this space would be my refuge.
Moving on to the kids’ bedroom… this room was very much designed by Emmy, who selected the artwork as well as the paper we used to set the tone.

The image with the paper and the beds is actually from our own kids’ bedroom.  I’ve also made a black teepee, pink faux hide rug, and pink pom pom garland in miniature form. (Linking to the real life version in case you want them!)  This bedroom is located in the attic of the dollhouse and all of the dressers we’ve found have been too tall, so we had to come up with a creative solution for clothing storage.  We decided to use a branch and found some miniature hangers at Joanns.  I found this space which had exactly the look I was going for in human scale.  I was also trying to figure out what to do about lighting when it hit me that these tiny LED lights would make a perfect whimsical touch and provide lighting.  I found a great deal on a set of 4 at Amazon.

So there you have it!  Those are the plans we have for the bedrooms and we’re looking forward to finishing these spaces.  Make sure you visit my cohosts to see their plans for this month as well.  You can find them all here: Thoughts from Alice, Nalle’s House, Semigloss Design.

Happy Tuesday, friends!

Love it so much Cassie. A moodboard for a dollhouse is about the cutest thing ever and the little LED fairy lights will be the perfect touch.
