Good Monday morning! I am so excited because it’s April, and tomorrow we will officially kick off Dollhouse Therapy! My cohosts, Alice, Anu, Emy, and I are all thrilled to be bringing you guys something a little different but still related to design. With my kids being on Spring break a couple of weeks ago, we sort of came to a screeching halt on progress, but this past weekend Emmy and I made a little progress and I thought I would share some sneak peeks.
Tomorrow is our official start date, and I’ll be sharing design plans for at least one room, although I plan to complete two rooms in April. You’ll have to come back tomorrow for the plans, but for now some little glimpses of what we’ve been doing…
We spent time this weekend hanging art and mirrors on the walls, like our puppy print in the kids’ bedroom. In the eat-in kitchen the art and colors mimic my own dining room.
Emmy shared with me what her ideal living room would look like and I created a plan loosely based on what she described. When the furniture arrived, she was thrilled! She also helped me with the pillows… hopefully you can see that sweet “Love” pillow that she drew for the house.
I follow my friend Jacqueline on instagram, and she has a fabulous etsy shop. I spied these awesome clay mini banners she was making and had to have one. I knew it would be the perfect art for my mini living room!
I also came across some pieces for the bathroom on instagram. (I love shopping there!) I found Doug through Thrift Score Thursday, and always love his finds. He shared this vintage brass miniature bathtub and Emmy and I both fell in love with it! He was willing to ship it to me, as well so I bought it right away! And check out the sweet little rug in the bathroom! Elizabeth from Rustic Maple was so generous and wanted to make one for Emmy! Emmy wanted it in black and white and Elizabeth created the perfect rug for the bathroom for this house. We were thrilled when it arrived!
Oh, and lastly, you’ve seen this fireplace when I shared my DIY miniature clay cacti, and I can’t wait to share how I made it with you soon. It was SO easy! We also hung the mirror above the mantle. More on that mirror later this week, too!
So once again I feel like we are chipping away and making progress and I am really excited about it all! I can’t wait to see the homes that everyone creates along the way. Hold on to your miniature hats, because I have a feeling this is all going to be epic!
I’ll be back tomorrow with an official design plan and an official Dollhouse Therapy kick off! See you then!
Oh, and I want to mention that today kicks off Swap It Like It’s Hot! It starts at Hearts & Sharts, so head on over to Dena’s blog. I’ll be sharing my project on Friday.
