Emmy’s Room- A Recap; And Is Swan the New Owl???

Well, I have been MIA since yesterday morning because we had a playgroup here, and as soon as it was over, a massive migraine kicked me in the rear.  Like put me in bed at 5 pm, unable to sleep, eventually getting nauseous and sick.  I woke up this morning feeling much better, thank goodness, because I have a date with my handsome husband tonight!
Today I have been Spring cleaning, emptying kitchen cabinets and reogranizing and wiping everything down, and I worked on Emmy’s room as well. While I was in there I realized I never gave you guys a full recap of it! It’s just about done, though there are a couple other things I need to do, but nothing major. Since the last time I shared her room, I painted her lamp shade and tied a tulle bow on it, and moved the lamp to her bedside. I also found a cute little gold bird at the thrift store that I painted white and hung above her bed.  Not much else is new! I was going to remove her bird painting and her green shelf, but I am liking the little mix of green in there as well. Anyhow, just some pictures…

this cabinet shows off some of emster’s artwork.

Now, a couple months ago, my friend Ali from My Third True Love told me that she was going to make it her mission to make swans the new owl. She has started collecting several thrifted swans, and even sent me a lovely package last week with a surprise swan for me!  He sure is pretty, isn’t he?  That long graceful neck… swoon!  What do you guys think?  Could the swan be the new owl?

I know that the owl still owns my heart, but it sure does make me happy to see this little swan every day and think of my sweet friend, Ali, out in California!  Thank you so much, friend!

Ok #1, her room is adorable!! That rug is perfect and there’s no mistaking her momma’s touch on those furniture pieces. ๐Ÿ™‚ #2, I’m not sure the swan could replace the owl, but if it does then this little guy I found is gonna be a hot commodity!

Emmy’s room is darling! I love the stenciled tree and her dresser. Well, you know how I feel about that dresser! I’d drive across country for it! The tulle is a delicate and pretty touch on the lamp. Great job! I am so sorry you had a migraine but glad it was a short lived one so that you can enjoy a night out with hubby. Have a good time. Love the swan and how sweet of Ali.

The room looks fantastic! I love all the cheerful colors.
By the way, I know you drink a lot of diet coke, and migraines have been linked with artificial sweeteners. Lay off the sweeteners for a while and see if your headaches go away.

A playgroup would give me a migraine too. Haha! But seriously, glad you are feeling better. Love Emmy’s room, but you already knew that ๐Ÿ˜‰ And I love your swan! Every time I look at mine I think of Ali too.

The swan certainly is cute! I did a post one time about whether or not the octopus is the new bird! Likely not.. but it’s still on the rise!

Emmy’s room is so sweet. And it’s the kind of room that she’ll be able to grow with. It’s girly without being “princess-y”. And as for the owl…I think Ali might be on to something ๐Ÿ˜‰

Emmy’s room is adorable. Love the color in there. The swan brings back flash backs of the 80’s for me. And not in a good way. I had a thing for swans and when my mom found out she starts sending everything swan until I was over loaded with them. So no more for me!

I love how you have touches of pretty complimentary colors around this room like the blue dresser and the tangerine tree! And that striped fabric on the window – so fun!! What a cute room….makes me want to be a little girl again!
