Happy Monday! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! We had one of the best doing things we love with people we love- couldn’t have been any better.
Recently I asked the talented Eddie of Jalapeno Photography to take some blog profile and family photos for me. We had them taken with her last year as well and I was thrilled with the results. She has a knack for capturing our family’s personalities so well on camera. Last year we donned outfits in blues and whites with pops of red in a Boho Americana sort of look. This year I selected grays and blues with mustard yellow accents. I actually just sifted through our closets to see what we had that would work because I don’t like purchasing clothes just for photos- I did have to buy a shirt for Chris, and a mustard yellow tee shirt (on clearance!) for Sawyer, but everything else came straight from our closets.
Eddie also suggested I bring some vintage suitcases (which I borrowed from my own Sweet Clover inventory) as well as a mexican blanket; she knows my style so well! Without further ado, here are this year’s photos….
You may have already noticed a couple of these as I have replaced my “about me” page photo with this one above. My profile photo on the sidebar has also been updated.
Eddie has a true knack for capturing Sawyer. He tends to behave awkwardly in front of a camera but I am always thrilled with her shots of him.
Isn’t he handsome? I might be biased. I just love him so much.
Emmy, on the other hand, is a natural in front of the camera and loves working with Eddie.
She also got a couple of great shots of the kids together….
This one just makes me laugh, because it’s just perfection…. I think one of the things you can ee in these photos is that my family pretty much laughs through life. We don’t take a whole lot too seriously.
I have no idea where they learned to laugh so much. 😉
We tried to be serious for a bit…
And if you hadn’t known, yes, I am taller than Chris. But isn’t he handsome?
I tend to laugh too much and make some funny faces, but Eddie was able to capture some great shots of me. I think we all tend to be too critical of photos of ourselves, so I am just going to say I love these and leave it at that without criticizing myself. I even behaved for a few and was able to look serious.
This one was taken while Eddie serenaded me with the Spanish version of Let it Go. She asked me what I’d like to hear and I tried to stump her, but she belted it out.
I am so happy with the work Eddie does. If you are anywhere within a drivable distance to Frederick, MD, I strongly encourage you to use Jalapeno Photography if you ever need photos taken. Eddie does weddings, babies, families, senior pictures, engagements, and more! She is about to have a baby in just a couple weeks, but she will be scheduling again for after the holidays! If she can make my family look good, imagine what she can do for yours!
Thanks for humoring my photo overload! Have a great day!
