Feel Good Friday 19
It’s Friday, my friends! How excited are we?!?! The best part of this weekend is that it’s the first weekend of March and spring is officially in the air here in North Carolina. The bad news… Well, we spring forward and lose a precious hour of sleep. THE WORST. I am not a fan of daylight savings and if you elect me as the next POTUS, I will do my best to get rid of that atrocity. Let’s not dwell on that lost hour though, and instead let’s move forward with things that will move the needle of your life towards “better.” I’ve had one of those weeks here that has been really busy, but my schedule has been packed with good things, some of which I am excited to share with you. In this week’s FGF I’ve got a favorite family game, an uplifting movie, an amazing new on the scene workout, and more! Feeling good and taking care of yourself means not only fueling and moving your body, but also nurturing your relationships and feeding your soul. Here are some things that will do all of that for you! (I am an Amazon associate and earn a small commission from qualifying purchases made through my links.)
A Sweet Movie– Think Bad News Bears meets Stranger Things meets Troop Beverly Hills and you’ve got Troop Zero. Emmy and I snuggled in together to watch this Amazon Prime movie last weekend and while she didn’t last and decided she’d rather sleep, I was all in with this film! This movie is for anyone who’s ever felt like they didn’t belong, been picked on or bullied, or just plain different. It tells the story of Christmas Flint, a young girl who lives in a trailer in rural 1970s Georgia with her dad, a struggling widowed attorney. Christmas dreams of a bigger life, and works to create her own Birdie troop out of other misfits in order to attain her goal of being on a record for NASA. I laughed, and I cried! This film teaches you to look deeper than the surface when meeting people, and shows what true friendship looks like.
Awesome New Workout- A new pilates and TRX inspired gym just opened here in Greensboro, and it is FANTASTIC! I tried it for the first time last weekend (You can see me working hard here. I’m in the black and white tank.) I was sore for a few days after trying this fun and innovative workout last Saturday. At the moment I’m doing no-spend March, but guess what? CoreX is having a grand opening tomorrow and all classes are free! You just need to register here. I am doing the 8 am. Working hard with friends always makes it go by so much faster, and I am grateful to have a crew.

Family Game Night Fun– We scheduled a much needed family game night this week. Last week was shot with me being sick and the shoot at my home, so we made sure to make time on Tuesday night when we had no other obligations. We’ve got some favorite games we often repeat, but I was allowed to choose this time and I went with a classic I adore… Pictionary! This game always has us rolling with laughter at the sketches and doodles each of us come up with as well as what others guess our pictures are. It’s a blast and fun for most ages!
A Good for the Gut Smoothie– I am going to get several of the recipes I mentioned earlier this week created, photographed, and written up for you, but this one is too good! I woke up one morning feeling bloated and disgusting and created this mix which solved my inflammation and made me feel better rather quickly. If you struggle with bloating, I highly recommend this one! This is just a screenshot from when I shared it on instagram stories, so that you can enjoy it now before the recipe is officially out. (Because it will take me some time to get all of those out.)
Inspiring and Humorous Podcast Episode– Two of my favorites got together again! This episode of the Tim Ferriss Podcast featuring an interview with Brene Brown was filled with insight and wisdom about self acceptance, but my favorite element was the look at their friendship. At the very end, Brene shares her favorite TikToks with Tim and can’t even contain herself because she finds it so funny. I just loved this little peek into who they really are… silly people who like ridiculous jokes, too. I’ve followed Tim for a long time and always enjoy his thoughtful and visionary guests, but I’ve come to think of him as a very serious human being. This episode was a little lighter and a nice change.
That is all I have for you this week. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and that you find time for rest, even with that lost hour! Drop me a comment and let me know what made you feel good this week!
