Feel Good Friday 49
Last week I mentioned I was headed to the mountains and wouldn’t be here this week, but I decided to write this post ahead of time because I just enjoy putting these together. We can all use a little something that brings us betterment in life these days, and that’s what Feel Good Friday is all about. So surprise, here I am, jumping out of a Halloween cake you didn’t order. This past week has been a good one, and I had to jump in and share some great things with you!
I’ve added Halloween decor to my home as you can see, but there won’t be a tour this year as I just can’t get it together. Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday to decorate for. I love the silly and spooky! I thought I’d sprinkle some photos of what I’ve done in for you in some of these posts. I added vinyls ghost faces to my big soup pots, some paper crows my awesome friend Tracey sent me, and some more little touches. By the way, she has the BEST Halloween decor!
Amazing Vegan Crockpot Chili
Speaking of soup pots… OK, so last week I asked Chris if he would try this vegan bean chili recipe from one of my favorite food blogs, Half Baked Harvest. My parents were going to be here for it as well, and I thought it would be an easy dinner to have ready for that evening. He agreed, and then when it came time to actually eat it, it was plainly clear that no one but me was excited. Well, what a surprise to all because it was delicious!!! Chris even told me, when he was eating it as a leftover one night, that he would gladly eat it again. We are definitely adding it into our easy fall/winter dinner rotation.
Free Three Day Challenge to Help Find Your Purpose
I’ve mentioned my coach, Chandra, many times here, and this past week I went live and allowed everyone a peek into my coaching sessions and what we cover. If you’d like to see that, you can access it here. Chandra has helped me so much in leaning into who I am at the core, bringing that person to the surface and allowing me to reach my full potential. She’s been exactly what I needed this year! She is hosting a free three day challenge to help you find your purpose as well! If you feel at all stuck, or like you know there’s more for you in this life, I highly recommend checking it out. You can sign up here, but it starts Tuesday!
Album on Repeat
My good friend Erienne mentioned how she’d been listening to The Chicks’ new album, Gaslighter, on repeat. I had listened to a couple of songs and loved them, but I hadn’t yet played the album through. Well, not it’s playing on a loop at my home! I especially love Sleep at Night and For Her, but Wilder’s favorite is the title track. Anyhow, if you haven’t yet, give it a listen wherever you stream your music.
Downtown Greensboro Window Decorating Contest
Downtown Greensboro is hosting a window decorating contest, and I would be thrilled if you would vote for my friend Jessika who owns Sonder Mind & Body with her family. This year has been a challenge for downtown businesses, and Downtown Greensboro is giving the winner $500 in marketing. I know that Jessika could really use it, plus look at that adorable fall window!!!! Go here to vote.
A Spooky Love Story
When The Haunting of Hill House came out a couple of years ago, I was OBSESSED. I have always loved horror movies and shows, especially ghost stories. When we were first married, I made Chris watch Ghost Whisperer with me all the time, although I think he secretly enjoyed it. Well, instead of an actual season 2, there is a ghost story called The Haunting of Bly Manor featuring some of the same cast members. It was released a week ago today, and I finished it on Wednesday before we left because I just had to!!! This series was haunting and creepy as one would expect, but the last episode had me in tears. While yes, it was a ghost story, at its core, it was a love story that gave me all the feels. If you like ghost stories, definitely check it out!
More Neighborhood Fall & Halloween Decor
Last week I shared some fun homes decked out for the season, and I thought I’d share a few more today. Wilder and I love to stroll around and soak it all in!
I love the color of this door, and the cute “Boo” and spider webs.
This one has twinkle lights strewn between the pumpkins and it looks so warm and magical! It’s hard to make out in the photo, but I didn’t want to just walk right up to people’s porches and take photos. 😉
I love a good pumpkin stairway!
This one has a huge spider and cobwebs by the door, and then if you look to the right you will see where a witch has flown right into the house!
With that, I am off for a weekend of wine and hiking, thought probably in the opposite order. I don’t recommend drinking followed by hiking. I am already a klutz enough! Hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy all of the fall things coming your way. Much love, Cassie
