Found Table Legs + Old Chippy Shutter = Awesome Table!

A while back, I bought a pair of these old moon cutout shutters that I had in my family room.

I redid the family room and out went the shutters, and I had no other place in my home to put them. So into my workspace they went awaiting for inspiration.
Once upon a time at the auction, I stumbled upon a set of 4 minty aqua green old painted furniture legs from a dining table. They were on the ground, abandoned, and destined for the dump. I picked them up and took them home with me, knowing I would find a use! I had visions of cutting them down and making a coffee table.
Fast forward a few months later, and inspiration finally came! I realized that one of the shutters would be just perfect with the furniture legs as a porch table, or entry table. So yesterday, my mom and I went to work on the soon to be table.

We lined up the 4 legs, made marks to drill to place an “L” bracket on either interior side of the leg. After the holes were drilled, we put glue on the shutter, placed the leg in place, and attached the “L” brackets for each leg.

After this was complete, we flipped the table right side up, and then put 3 trim screws in each corner coming in from the top to really secure the legs. We planned on filling the holes and brushing a little paint over, but decided the holes were ok as they were, since the shutter already had old nail holes and other marks all over it. Here it is now, staged on my mom’s porch!

It will be coming to the The Luckett’s Spring Antique Market with me.

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my recent finds (coke crate) I don’t have any little ones to make an art center thingy. 🙁
However, I could repurpose it to sell.

Responding to your comment on my half marathon! DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! I promise you it will sit in the back of your mind and lurk there until you do it! The mental satisfaction was so worth the physical training. My training was a 10 week program that was 5 days a week. I did only 3 or 4 days a week and still achieved my goal of finishing, not walking and completing it in 2 hr 30 min. You can do it!!!!!!! Put that baby in a jogger and go for it!
