French Sideboard

French buffets have to top my list of pieces I love to transform.  I would say the most popular piece of furniture I redid was this one….

I also did a more subdued version seen here...
I painted this cranberry colored dresser/sideboard.…
And then there was this sideboard that I gave chalkboard panels….
I just love this style!  I have done more but it was back when dinosaurs roamed the earth before I blogged.  Well, of course when I found this piece at the Salvation Army a couple weeks ago, I jumped on it.  And did a dance.  Right there on the table top in the Salvation Army.  Ok, not quite, but I ripped off that tag and ran to the register as fast as I could!

I am over at the DIY Club today sharing all the details of its transformation, but I won’t leave you hanging without a couple after shots….

And I am kind of digging this color against my house…. hmmmm front door color possibility????
Anyhow, hop over to The DIY Club for all the deets!

So pretty Cassie! I love the color. Our long term plan is to turn our current formal living room into the formal dining room. When I do that, I will finally have room for a sideboard and definitely want to do something like this.

I also almost did a dance at the Salvation Army the other day too, I scored a great sideboard and had to hover around to stake my claim once some other women had walked away from it, talk about stressful, haha! I haven’t picked it up yet but am so exicted to get stuck into it, yay!

Pure gorgeousness! It tempts me to paint the vintage dresser I have that I use as a sideboard…if I can let go of the sentimental factor (it’s from my childhood home, it belonged to my parents when I was growing up) I might paint it.
A resounding YES for the front door color!

How did I miss this post????? Oh be still my heart. You just did the number one piece of furniture that leaves me breathless every time. The French Side board or Buffet. I have not found one at a thrift store in years, but if I did I would be doing a dance too! And not only would I be running to the register with the price tag, I would probably be running so fast I knocked over kind old ladies on the way. I have one in my garage that I have been saving. Now that I have a bigger space to sell my things, I can’t wait to “Redoux” this one next. And yes, I do really love that color against your house.
