Freshening up the Porch & Passing it on!

Happy Easter!  Hope you all have a nice day ahead of you!  We are heading to my parents for the day, and the weather is supposed to be quite agreeable.  Yay!  Hope the bunny treats you well, too!

So far, Spring has been just lovely here!  I worked on freshening up our porch/side entry a couple weeks ago, but had to wait for the local garden center to have the impatiens I needed to share pictures.  They finally got them in today, so we headed over and grabbed some to fill our pots.  Here is a look at the porch…

Yes, I am keeping it real- we have kids.  We have kids shoes.  We have kids soccer balls.  We have kids Easter baskets from the Easter egg hunts they attended yesterday when this picture was taken.  Keeping it real, y’all.
Ok, let’s check out the details.  This ladder came from the Lucketts fair a couple years back.  I attached screw in hooks to the rungs so I could hang my sap bucket planters, which hung on the fence at our last house.  I filled them with impatiens since this side of the porch doesn’t stays in the shade.

Here is a closer look….

This butterfly also came from Lucketts a couple years back.

I found this wooden bucket at a thrift shop a couple weeks ago for $2.50 and painted it and added some columbines to it.  The vintage egg basket I have had for a while.  Right now it holds our tomato plant which is waiting to be planted, but it will hold more impatiens soon.

To the right of the door, I put the barnwood bench that used to be in our dining room.  I added a feedsack pillow and a vintage bedspread pillow, both which I made.  And then the latest addition was a sweet ruffled pillow that came to me from Linda from It All Started with Paint.

 Isn’t it the cutest!

Linda and a bunch of bloggers started a “Pass it on” chain, and Linda had asked me if I would participate.  Well, of course!!!  I had to choose two bloggers to pass on gifts to, and ask that they keep the chain going.  I chose….

Natasha from Schue Love
Michelle from Ten June

Now, if you know these girls, you know that they have something in common…. baby bellies!!!!  That’s right!  They are expecting!  So when I worked on making Kelly’s shower gift, I also made these girls mod podged vintage book page frames!

Here they are!

How cute is that turtle on his back?  He makes me smile!

Also, the winner of the bottle opener giveaway is….

Lisa from Shine Your Light!

HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter. I think the ladder and flower buckets are so cute. Real is best too! How come you don’t have a layer of dirt on your porch like me? Oh because you live where there are trees and little wind. 🙂 David loved your area when he went to visit with his school. The frames are so cute too. I really like that idea.

What a cute idea for a baby shower, I love the vintage children’s books.

Thank you for keeping it real on your porch, kids do tend to have more “stuff” and it has to find a spot. Under the bench looks like a perfect spot for the shoes and balls.

How come saying sap bucket makes me giggle? Sounds like something you would call someone you didn’t like. You ‘ol sap bucket. Or maybe someone who cries easy? You wet little sap bucket.
