Friday Night Wine & Design: Mod Podge Hod Podge

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that once a month I get together with girlfriends for what we call “Wine & Design”.  We each bring a dish to share, a bottle of wine to share, and the materials needed for the themed project.  This month we did “Mod Podge Hod Podge”, meaning we each brought something we wanted to mod podge and got to work!  It’s always so fun to see what each of us comes up with!  I was too busy sipping wine that I forgot to take any before pictures, but here are the projects we made.

Emily mod podged paper to the back of these glass craft bubbles/stones whatever you want to call them! She is going to make them into magnets.

I mod podged some of my old ikea coasters that I wasn’t loving anymore.  I found this fun paper to use!  And I cut all 6 from the same sheet, so they can all be connected like a puzzle, which my kids love!

Pin

Jenny bought an unfinished tray from the craft store, painted it, and added this playful paper for her girls.  It’s still a little wet in this picture, but adorable!

Pin

Heather used some wooden circles from the craft store to add this fun paper to.  She plans to add cork to the back of them and use them as coasters.

Pin

and she also decorated these letters for her boys’ rooms.

Pin
Jori decorated a star and moon hook for her own boys’ rooms.
Pin
and Julie came to craft and enjoy wine, but tried her hand at making bows for her daughter!  I love the little blue one!
Pin
My pal Renee was also there, but she wasn’t thrilled with her piece.  But visit her blog to see the wonderul little boxes she is decorating!
Next month we are doing wreaths… Emily and I have both chosen to do a clothespin wreath- I can’t wait!!
Happy weekend, folks!

I love the idea of getting together with the girlfriends for some crafting, bonding, and drinking. The finished products were very cute as well.

I agree that a girl’s crafting night sounds like a lot of fun! I’m sure you all had a great time. Fun projects! I have not tried Mod Podge yet.

Oh, I so wish I had more friends into decor and stuff. All of my Aussie pals couldn’t really care less (which means most of my crafty sisters are based in the US – which does make it hard to “wine and design” – unless you like drinking alone!). When I started blogging I thought Mod Podge was another one of those American enigmas though I have seen it at a local store since so, yay!, that’s one thing we do have here in Oz (along with Dorothy and the Tinman)!

Cute projects girls! And Cassie, I love that your coaters also make a puzzle. Even older “kids” would feel the need to play with these!
