So I told you the other day about this sore throat and exhaustion…. turns out the exhaustion was a sympton of my pending migraine, which I woke to in the middle of the night Thursday night. I had to teach spin at 5:30 am on Friday… I forced myself out of bed Friday at 5, head throbbing, throat aching, took some motrin and got my butt to the gym. I told the class to bear with me, and prayed that the exercise endporphins would help. I got on my bike, and I felt my face go white (you know that feeling?). I started to pedal, and then I started to sweat a ridiculous cold sweat. I prayed I would not throw up on front of the class. That lasted about 10 minutes. Then miracle of all miracles, the headache went away. The endophins kicked it to the curb!!! My throat still hurt and my voice was still very scratchy, but the headache was gone. So the lesson here is that I should go out for a run when I have a headache. Kidding. The real lesson is that when I feel that utter exhaustion come on, I need to recognize it. It always happens but it puts me in a fog and I forget to think what it means. I told my husband that when I am that tired and want to go to bed at 7 pm he needs to tell me, “You are about to get a migraine. Go take something now!” So let’s hope that works next time!
Anyhow, I got over the headache so that I could still host Friday Night Wine & Design last night. Thank goodness! We had a great group of ladies, making all different things themed on luck. I had titled it “Come get lucky at Wine & Design” because I am classy like that. Some people worked on shamrocks for St. Patty’s Day. Others used phrases, and I used ladybugs, which represent luck. Here are some pictures of our projects!
Jazz worked on a sign which she was going to finish at home- isn’t that phrase so cute?
Emily worked on a sign as well. She was just going to glue the letters on at home. (We were all a little sick last night, so we wrapped up a little early!)
My mom made this adorable little picture with an old quilt piece and some rhinestones and she embroidered on “Lucy Girl”. Guess who is the lucky girl who gets to keep it? Emmy!!! I am working on a gallery wall for her room so it will be part of that.
My friend Jenny taught herself how to make clippies for her daughter’s last night. Her daughter Keelie and Emmy are good friends, so Jenny made them matching shamrock clippies to wear to school together on Wednesday for spirit day, when they are supposed to wear green.
Andi (who was feeling like I was!) worked with clad and made a shamrock. And she brough tme this adorable owl keychain she made! She really can do it all, thus her blog name Jane of All Crafts.
My friend Tracy crochets, very well I might add, and was working on a cute little green frog purse.
Jen worked on embroidering some Maryland blue crab cocktail napkins- aren’t they the cutest!
And I made a new yarn wreath for my door, using a green styrofoam wreath, a mossy green yarn, some lady bugs I found in the floral section of Hobby Lobby, and some yellow felt rosettes I made. Here it is hanging on my door!
We had a wonderful time, despite the fact that I was sick, Andi was sick, Emily had a headache… We all get by with a little help from our friends, don’t we? A night with the girls is most certainly the perfect antidote.
And as promised, here is a sneak peak of a project I am working on this weekend.
I will be back later today with POWW faves! I need to work a little more on my project first. π
