Getting Ready for Summer: A New Summer Bag from Simply Bags and Ideas for the Kiddos

Happy Wednesday!  It’s wednesday which means I am heading to the salon again…. to go darker!  I will take a fabulous self portrait with my phone to share with you. 🙂  Also, because it’s Wednedsay, May 9, that means Sawyer is heading to the dentist this afternoon to have his two front teeth extracted.  He lost his two front teeth almost two years ago.  The teeth that came in looked a little strange, and it turns out they are extras.  The real front teeth are in there and can’t get out properly.  Our last dentist told us the real teeth would push the extras out, but it hasn’t happened.  Since moving we have a new dentist and she wants them out asap and I trust her.  The extras are forcing the real front teeth to come in too forward and high.  So just keep Sawyer in your thoughts… I know it’s quick and easy, but I am mostly hoping it doesn’t ruin his dental experience.  Because as of yet he and Emmy love going and I want to keep it that way!  Oh, and I am going to start saving for braces now.

Anyhow, I don’t know about you, but it feels to me like summer is creeping up on us!  I have one month until both kiddos are out for the summer.  My kids and I have been busy making a list of all the things we want to do this summer.  We are on a limited budget, so these are all pocket-friendly activities.  Today, I am sharing part of our list over at A Place 2 Call Home for my “Wednesday Wishes” series.

Speaking of summer, I have a brand new bag just in time!  Simply Bags offers tons of adorable and affordable personalized tote bags!  I was able to receive and review one from them, and I love it!  They were kind enough to send me the stripe canvas tote which will come in very handy this summer!  There is not a convenient pool near our new house, but there is a lake with a beach nearby that most of the families I know visit.  We plan on spending many summer mornings there (before it gets too hot!).  What I love about this bag is the zipper closure; the previous bag I was using does not have a closure and I was often dropping flip flops here and there.   Our stuff will be a lot safer in this bag!  It is also embroidered with our last name in navy (and if they can fit my last name, they can fit yours! 🙂 ).  I love the overall nautical look with the red and white stripes, the navy embroidery, and the grommets.  Here are some pictures of my new bag…

Beautiful embroidery!

Love the grommet details!

The zippered top…

And even a zippered compartment inside!

I am looking forward to many daytrips with the kiddos using this bag!

Here are a couple others that caught my eye…. (sorry about the weird spacing… darn blogger!)
Tennessee Beach Bag (my in laws would go crazy for this!)

And I love these lunch bags for the kids, or if you are part of the world that goes to an office for work.

They have so many great bags to choose from!  Visit Simply Bags to see their entire collection of personalized bags from tote bags, to beach bags, to wine bags, cosmetic bags- you name it!
Thank you so much to Simply Bags for sending me a bag to review.  All opinions are my own!

I feel like Summer will be here before we know it too! That cute bag will certainly help you get through the Summer and the zipper – genius! I hope you and the kids will come down to go to the pool with us a few times!

We will keep Sawyer in our prayers. How interesting to have extra teeth! I hope the whole thing is fairly painless for him (and you).

Praying for your baby today, Cassie! Does that mean the toothfairy leaves extra money since they’re extra teeth?! Lucky boy!

Awww good luck little guy! When I was a kid I had to have 5 baby teeth pulled (mostly molars) in one sitting because they just wouldn’t come out. It’s a good thing that you’re doing it – if I hadn’t gotten mine pulled I would’ve had some serious crowding issues when I got older. 🙂 He’ll be just fine – nothing a good cold milkshake can’t cure!

Oh I so need a bag that zips – and is that bag not the perfect colors for me?!

I’ll be thinking of your sweet boy today – he’ll be fine – it’ll probably be harder on you than him.

Aw poor Sawyer – hope all goes well at the dentist! My son had teeth extracted when he was young and the dentist gave us the teeth – kind of fun for a kid to show his family – a badge of honor!

Cute bags – I’ll have to check out that source!

Extra teeth? That’s crazy. You should tell him he’s like X-Men, the next phase of evolution and the world just isnt’ ready for it yet. 🙂

Hope all goes well at Dentist! Reading the post, I suddenly remembered we missed the orthodontist appointment for Rachel today!!!! She stayed after school for a band thing, and I spaced it, even thought it is up on the refrigerator, and my phone even beeped at me!!!

Those bags are awesome, going to check them out.
