Sarah and I spent a few hours at the barn yesterday getting our space prepped and stocked for this weekend’s barn sale. Before I share with you the pictures of our space, I wanted to show you a dining table I painted and brought over yesterday. I picked it up at a thrift shop for a decent price. It was wobbly and needed some tightening, but I fell in love with the shape of its legs….
As you can see, I had my graphite chalk paint ready to attack! I gave it two coats, lightly distressed it, and then used a satin finish polycrylic over it. I went this route rather than wax because it is a dining table and I thought it would be more durable. And I needed Chris’ help to move it for a photo….. which didn’t happen. So here it is in the driveway before we loaded it. 😉
Disregard the mess of cords and tools in the background. I don’t know who made such a mess. Just look at the pretty legs… ooooh.
I brought this table with me yesterday, and Sarah and I prettied up our whole space. I thought I would share with you some preview pics for this weekend!
You’ve already seen this dresser….
This little green chest was once in my foyer, but was replaced by my navy drop leaf desk…. It was time to stop hoarding it just because it’s so little and cute! And Sarah painted this adorable similarly sized numbered chest. Love it! We had some fun setting up this area with blues and greens, using the glassware to help catch the light from the window. I also painted a couple of chalkboard cutting boards.
Sarah bought this buffet which was a set with the table I bought, so she pained it similarly…. it’s STUNNING, isn’t it? I painted the little gray table and will share that soon. We loved how this display came together with the soft grays, moody sideboard, and gold touches in the frames. The large gray one is a mirror that I have also been hoarding… time to let it go. Sigh.
A closer look at the gray mirror and gold frames….
Sarah painted this adorable blue table… I am in love with its shape and details!
We stacked it on a petite coffee table on top of the black sideboard I painted.
Here is the dining table, with a gorgeous French table Sarah painted on top, and a pair of French caned chairs.
We are all set for this weekend and are looking forward to a great sale! Sarah and I will both be working Saturday from 10-5 and would love to see you if you are local! The barn is open 10-5 this Friday through Sunday. For even more pictures from the entire barn, visit the Stylish Patina Facebook page!
And now, have a happy happy Tuesday! I am headed off to one of my least favorite activities…. a dentist appointment. Ick.
