Happy Father’s Day to….

This photo taken on the road August 26, 2005, when my dad helped us evacuate Louisiana due to Katrina. |
my dad… thank you for everything you have taught me, including how to use a circular saw, how to fix drawers, how to use trim screws, how to appreciate nature and quiet time, how to take better pictures, how to show love and tear up even though you don’t want to cry, and how to be one half of a beautiful marriage.

This was Sawyer’s first diaper change, which Chris jumped right in and did! |
my husband… who may not always get me, but always helps me, plays with our children, teaches our children, has changed numerous diapers since this photo, and is the most hands on Dad I know right now. While I write this post, my husband is actually out delivering a piece of furniture for me, even though it is Father’s Day. I had a very stressful day yesterday, and my brain tends to run a mile a minute, and he just wanted to help. Recently, some of my friends were talking about their own husbands’ downfalls, and I had nothing to add the the conversation about my own. I consider myself blessed and lucky, and my children even luckier.

Dana came to visit when we were evacuated, and got to meet Sawyer. |
my brother… he is not a father, but Father’s Day is not just for dads. He is the best uncle to my kids and loves playing with them. Sawyer especially looks up to Uncle Dana. He lives in Los Angeles, but we are always happier when he is on the East Coast with us!!!!
Happy Father’s Day to all of your fathers, husbands, uncles, male role models. Thank you for all you do for us and for our children!
