Holiday Hostess Gift Guide

Happy Monday!  Can you believe that Thanksgiving is this week, and it’s time to start thinking about holiday shopping, decorating, entertaining, and even better- attending parties!  Over the next few weeks I’ll be putting together some gift guides featuring some of my favorite items from some of my favorite places to shop. Today I’m sharing a holiday hostess gift guide featuring one of my favorite color palettes that is timeless, yet still edgy and glam- black, white, and gold.

I am always a fan of shopping local to support the community, and fortunately some of our downtown Frederick shops also boast an online presence, so they aren’t limited to Maryland Customers.  Silk & Burlap is one of the shops that I turn to for fashion, home decor, and gifts.  The owners have great style that is reflected in their carefully curated shop.  I paid a visit last week and put together  some of my favorite gifts to help you show up to holiday parties with something your hostess will love!

Silk & Burlap Hostess Gifts

1. The Capri Blue Volcano candle is one of my long time favorites… But I had never seen it in festive mercury glass!  This candle smells amazing- fresh and clean and crisp.  It’s actually Chris’ favorite candle scent as well.
2. If you pick up a candle, why not give your hostess some fun matches to accompany it?  These matches come with all sorts of hostess-appropriate sayings, like my favorite, “Cheers!”
3. This black and white table runner is a great choice for the hostess who loves to regularly entertain.
4. Dessert plates with gold splatter marks speak to the painter in me, and are sure to spark joy in your creative hostess.
5. Pair a couple of these black and white striped mugs with coffee, hot cocoa, or perhaps a bottle of Baileys.
6. Headed to a holiday cookie exchange?  Bring your hostess a fabulous new recipe box!  Silk & Burlap carries a couple other pattern options as well.
7. Who doesn’t love a friendly “hello” pillow?  Surely a friendly hostess would!
8. Heading to a couples party?  This pair of glasses are perfect for the stylish couple.
9. I’ve been coveting this striped cheese board for some time, so if I have a party and invite you, you can just bring this to me, OK?
10. Headed to a swanky holiday party- maybe a New Year’s party?  Bring your hostess this magical mermaid bottle opener.  It’s gold and it’s a mermaid.  Need I say more?
11. Chalkboard pigs would great paired with the cheeseboard as cheese markers, or can work perfectly on their own as place card or recipe holders.  Write your hostess a message on her gift!
What do you think?  Are you feeling ready to hit those holiday parties?

I want it all! I’m especially intrigued by the candle. I’ve also been wanting a recipe tin. I don’t often follow recipes when I cook, but I’d like to keep my favorite baked goods recipes all in one place. I could live at Silk & Burlap!
