Shall we head upstairs?
This is a picture of what the view from the foyer looked like a few years ago…

and now…. I recently painted the risers as well as the metal railings.

The room at the top of the stairs to the left is supposed to be a living room, but it was just not needed, so we made it into our dining room as the actual dining room was too small. What I am about to show you might hurt your eyes… The “living room” when we first moved in with our furniture that didn’t fit too well in this house…

And now it’s our dining room!

Ok, yes, this room was painted lavender. What was I thinking? It used to be our dining room…

And now it is what I call our sitting room. And the cool fabric you see draped on the one chair is what I bought to make pillows for the chairs, and it was only around $7 a yard!

Off of the new sitting area lies the kitchen. It is rather small, and the cabinets are not as nice as they appear in pictures (aka not real wood). I plan to repaint the room, but can’t decide if I want to paint it white and paint the cabinets gray, or paint it gray, and leave the cabinets. Soft blue is in the running as well! This room needs some love and help. Here it is shortly after we moved in and I was into vintage china as I had a ton from my Nana and Great Nana.

Here it is as of now. Love my little chandy I got on clearance at Target from Simply Shabby Chic. Send me your kitchen ideas! Can I paint this linoleum floor? HELP!

I love your two hutches with the white and blue background. You should make a cute little cord cover for you chandelier in the kitchen. Something with some green in the fabric to compliment those lovely green dishes.

What a great idea to move the dining room to a more suitable area.

You have done a lot of work on your house and it shows!

Okay, I thought your first little tour was awaesome, this is just gorgeous. You have so many cool little vignettes and pieces of furniture. Your kitchen is so cute (seriously, you DO NOT want to see mine at the moment!). The farmhouse bench with the mirror at the top of the stairs is one of my favorite features.

I love your dining room table! How do you like having benches? My husband wants to remove 2 of our chairs and replace it with a bench. And I LOVE the curtains in the dining room! Your kitchen looks great to me. I love the green glassware with the white curtains. Surely you can paint the linoleum. It seems like I’ve seen them do it on HGTV.

Loved the house tour. You have some beautiful pieces of furniture. I would love to find a chandy like the one you got at Target for my daughter’s room. I need one like that to hang from the ceiling between 2 twin beds. I will have to look on Ebay and see what I can find. Love & blessings from NC!

Love it all. I use my dining room as a sitting room; we have an eat in kitchen right next to it, so why bother with two rooms to eat in?!

Cassie, I have those same adorable (huh) railings and hand rails. How did you paint the handrail part of it? Yours looks similar to mine so I’m wondering if yours too is plastic?
