You guys know I love to find thrifted owls and paint them white, right? Well, at Lucketts this past weekend, my talented furniture paintin’ pal Pam gifted me an awesome owl bank she found on the ground at the auction. Found in the ground as homeless and no one wanted to love him. We were meant to be because I do love him. And by the way, I am trying to get Pam to blog more…. she is talented and has lots to share and great ideas. So go comment on her blog today and tell her we want more! Anyhow, here is the owl bank before….
Now, of course my first inclination was to paint him white, but he is a little larger than my other hoots, so I thought a fun color might be in order. I went with glossy yellow! I took the guy outside yesterday from some spray primer and spray paint, and now he sits in my entry way at the top of my stairs. And he makes me happy with his cheerful color. And I love that as I sit in the dining room typing this, I can see him as well as gifts form other friends and blog friends, and I feel so lucky and loved. Ok, sappy moment is over, time for the reveal… And by the way, Pam specifically told me she wanted to see the before and after on the blog so here you go, Pam! I hope you like it!
Here are some other little goodies I brought home from Lucketts that I forgot to share. I bought these vintage metal chippy shiny brass letters for $2 each and placed them on one of my china cabinets. Sawyer asked why I spelled “EAT” there. I told him, well, because that’s what we do in here!
And I actually painted this vintage butterfly napkin holder and was happy it didn’t sell, because I get to keep it! And it’s so Springy and again, just makes me HAPPY!
And how perfect is it on the beautiful ruffled runner that Sharon gave me! I love it all together!
Also a couple of reminders for you….
My furniture link party ends tonight, so make sure you have linked up your furniture revamps!
And I am guest-judging at The CSI Project and the linky is now open through noon EST tomorrow! So head over and link up your best summer ideas! I can’t wait to go through them all!!!
