It’s Friday! Woohoo! I wasn’t ready for the kids to go back to school Thursday so I am ready for the weekend. I plan to come back here Monday with some goals and aspirations, but until then, I am going to dump on you about 30 photos from instagram over the last few weeks. (You can follow me there at cassie8978).
Ready, Set, Go!
I saw this set when I was out shopping and it cracked me up! I am headed to a white elephant exchange tomorrow night, and if this is the right cost, guess what I am bringing?
I took the kids to the craft store with me and Emmy got a headband kit. Here she is proudly sporting her creation.
She loves to help me make cookies!
And she loves to craft with me. Here we were making our gift tags.
Sarah made me this thoughtful gift for Christmas to honor our Charlie.
Ali gave me this amazing copper bracelet with a favorite line from a favorite poem. I adore it and wear it all the time! Check out my old lady skin, too. Eeeew. Oh, and if you want to purchase one of your own, you can check out InspirationsJewelry2 on etsy.
I found this in Emmy’s notebook and DIED. Notice my girl might have spelled music wrong two ways, but she sure knows how to spell boss and leader. That’s right people, future president right here.
Deciding if I should grow out the bangs or not…. No matter what, my hair always has these little fluffy spiky things in the front. ugh.
This guy wanted to play so badly with me one day! I humored him for a bit. I think he was feeling pretty lonely that week.
I moved all the presents to the dining room tree when it looked like our living room tree was a goner….
See? After just a week we had noticed it was bad… A week before Christmas we could sit in the living room and just hear the needles drop.
So with just a week to go, I undecorated it, we got rid of it, and picked up a smaller fresh model at Home Depot. And all was well.
General Finishes made my day with lots of new colors to try! I have busted open the holiday red and the emerald green. Can’t wait to share!
I was so excited when Emmy brought home a “My First Little House” book from the library. YAY!!!! Bring it on, Laura Ingalls Wilder!
Like I said, Jake was having a lonely week. I was trying to cook dinner…. it was a challenge with the position he took in relation to the stove.
Emmy and I made the adorable elves I saw on Nalle’s House. We added them to our sideboard winter scene.
I recovered the guest room chair in leather. That post is coming later this month!
I made my first pom pom wreath! High fives all around!
The kids helped me make cookies for Santa. I hope Santa isn’t diabetic.
Christmas Eve we always give the kids matching pj’s. Here they are in this year’s version- Snowboarding polar bears!
Christmas morning… the quintessential gift, the classic bicycle!
My parents gave me some new dishes (from Ikea) and I love how they look on our island! I was wanting to go with all blues and whites, mix and match sort of…. LOVE it!
They also gave me this awesome vintage antelope painting that one of our Sweet Clover vendors, All About Vignettes, had. I’ve added it to the master bedroom gallery wall, and just have a couple holes left to fill!
Sawyer received a framed vintage Star Wars stamp, and Chris and I gave him the framed moon article, which also came from one of the Sweet Clover vendors, Random Notion. I created a little gallery wall with some of his art. Perfect for an American history, cowboy, and Star Wars loving boy!
My parents gave Sawyer some pirate pj’s, AARGH!
Santa brought Emmy a sweet reindeer (it was on her list)…. the elves made it in a similar fashion to her fox. The reindeer came from Little Kitten, and the fox came from Oh Sweet Lulu
I jotted down some goals….
I found a gorgeous top to wear for New Year’s Eve at Silk and Burlap. I forgot to take any pics that night, so here’s a shot for you!
A sweet friend made me this awesome crocheted garland!
Monday I got to have lunch and go thrifting with Sarah Dorsey! Did I mention that she is moving less than 10 minutes away from me? Super excited!!!!!! We had a blast, and it was great to get to know her better. She is crazy talented. She is the cute one on the left and I am the one with the dirty hair pulled into a pitiful bun, just in case you weren’t sure.
Yesterday, we got a little of this! I am holding my breath for a delay but we shall see!
With the snow outside, it was a great night to start a fire and play bananagrams with the kids! Santa brought Sawyer this game in his stocking- it’s SO fun! Chris loves it because I always kill him in boggle, but with this one, it’s a game of chance and speed as well, so he has more of a chance. 😉
Well, that was a lot of instagram action! Now it’s (almost) time to go out and enjoy the weekend! Oh, and I am super excited to be getting a mini-manicure! It has been WAY too long (almost 10 years) but I got a call from Silk and Burlap that they are doing them for their favorite customers and I was selected! How amazing? I am so excited for my 15 minutes of pampering! Happy weekend!
