Happy Friday! I feel like a big hearty congratulations is called for…. why? Because we survived this week! It was a loooooooong one here! We are ending it with a bang, but in a good way. Tonight, my friends, Emmy will take the stage with a friend to perform in the school talent show. I am so proud of her and can’t wait to see my girl dance.
Soooo….. Do you want to know something funny? I have been blogging for 5 years. FIVE years! FIVE YEARS!!!! For the next five years I plan
world domination to make the blog even better, but to do that I need some help from you! I would be honored if you would do me a huge favor and fill out this survey by clicking here.
Did you click it? No? OK, try again. Click on the text below.
Ok, now did you take it? Thank you! I really appreciate the time it took you to do so! I am hoping to gather some fun questions from you guys so I can make a video with all the answers. I think. Kelly did it, and she told me all the cool kids do it so I have to if I want to be one of the cool kids. And of course I want to be a cool kid.
Oh, and before I get into my recent instagrams, I wanted to let you know that I am over at The White Buffalo Styling Co today sharing what I deem my style. Head on over to check it out! If you haven’t been to Lindsay’s blog, be prepared to stay awhile. Her live edge kitchen island is a favorite project if mine in the history of DIY.
Now onto life in instagram lately! It’s been a while since I have shared these here so, so be ready to be
dazzled bombarded! And if you want to find me on instagram my username is cassiebustamante.
After 6 months, I finally got a hair cut…. just a trim and I brought back the bangs. That was oh, 4 weeks ago or so and I need to trim them myself already!
While cleaning I found this vintage sign I had forgotten about. Can’t wait to put it up in my kitchen!
I moved the old living room rug into the guest room…. it’s PERFECT there.
Sawyer was very proud of his predator diorama he brought to school; he chose the cheetah.
We lost power for a few days. Day 1 I introduced the kids to racko, and it has become a favorite to them (it was one of mine as a child). We played by candle light.
Later that evening it was clear we were all going a little batty…..
When the power was back on I picked up these chairs for the heads of my dining table. They are midcentury and funky and I love the vibe they give.
While the power was out our poor frog Anakin didn’t make it. 🙁 Emmy and I picked up a new frog, stuck a feather in his hat, and called him Macaroni! She really did name him Macaroni.
I snapped a picture at the breakfast table one morning before school because it was just so typical of my children and their personal styles… Emmy in a deer tunic, hot pink sweater, and sparkly cat ears; Sawyer in wind pants and an Under Armour compression shirt.
Oh, and the power went out AGAIN the day before Valentine’s Day. I bundled up and read this book…. so good!
And here’s why the power was out again… lots and lots of snow!
I made the kids a fort with a tunnel and had to test it out.
Then it was Emmy’s turn!
We saw the Lego movie!
Emmy’s very first American Girl magazine arrived… she was thrilled!
Sawyer told me his stuffed dog was a gas mask…. boys!
I created “Emmy’s very own pinterest board”. She has had a blast pinning away. If you follow me on pinterest, you will have noticed lots of adorable animals, kids fashion, and kids shoes being pinned.
My girlfriend and I took a Wine and Canvas class. Here we are before painting… excited to get started!
And after with our paintings!
I have started training for the American Odyssey Relay! Did I mention I am on a team? Yep. Somehow I will run 17 miles, split over three legs, over a two day period. I am scared.
I was doing homework with Sawyer and stopped to admire his perfect little boy hands. I wanted to remember them, a little dirty, a little chubby, and all perfect.
And finally, yesterday I finished a piece I started two weeks ago. My painting mojo was GONE and I just didn’t want to do it. Finally….. done.
Oh, and did I mention I would love it if you would take a moment to take my survey?
Thank you for all of your help and support! Have a wonderful weekend!
