I thought I would just fill you in on everything since it’s pretty quiet over here at the moment.  I read this post from Yanet today about being in a funk and I completely related.  Maybe it is the end of summer blues.  Maybe it is the start of school blues.  Maybe it is the no-house-yet-blues.  Maybe it is the hurricane blues.  Goodness knows I have had my fair share of hurricanes already in my life.  Whatever it is, it doesn’t feel good.  And I felt like I should be completely honest with you.  It isn’t always rainbows and unicorns over here.

I told you all in my last post about the house we made an offer on and the furnace issue.  Well, the sellers were supposed to have contractors out there yesterday and today for estimates, but thanks to the earthquake, those appointments were pushed back until tomorrow.  And honestly, with Irene headed our way, I am not sure those appointments will happen tomorrow.  So I have no news on that front.  All I know is we are ready!  We have everything in order so that as soon as there is a contract we will be smooth sailing.  I am still very hopeful that this all works out and this is the house.   Chris and I were already talking about living room layouts the other night, so I know he’s excited and hopeful, too.  Otherwise, he would never have sat with me and looked at Pinterest!

I have begun some projects, but honestly they aren’t pieces I am especially excited about.  They are the pieces that sat untouched at the last house….. I brought them here so I would finally work on them.  Maybe they will turn out better than I think.

On a good note, Sawyer came off the bus Tuesday with a big smile and hug and had a great day and made new friends, Matthew and James.  Yesterday, he had two more friends he made, Natalie, and “Broccoli”.  I asked, are you sure the name is “Broccoli?  Maybe it is Brock?”  And he said, “Oh yeah, it’s Brock and she’s a girl.”  He sure knows how to make girl friends. 🙂

So not wanting to leave you without any beautiful images,  here are a couple of dreamy bedroom images from Pinterest that I have pinned….

And if you are looking for me on pinterest, just click here.

Come back tomorrow for an awesome guest!  and maybe tomorrow I will hear some news on the house!

I know how you feel and to be honest, life would be pretty boring if it were all just rainbows and unicorns right? Or at least that’s how I look at it.

In any case I love the bedroom in the 2nd photo. Just love the sloped ceiling and also, sending some house vibes your way so that everything goes smoothly 🙂

You have a whole lot going on right now. It’s Ok to be in a funk. Just know that sunny days are right around the corner! And the fact that Sawyer is already making new friends shows how quickly kids (and grown-ups too)adapt to change. That’s a good thing! … And I love your inspiration photos, especially the doors headboard!

Three things! 1. I totally LOVE that second bedroom – gorgeous! 2. Thanks for my first laugh this morning with the “Broccoli” story!!! 3. Sawyer was the name I had picked out for our second little boy, but I couldn’t get my hubby to be in complete agreement. It’s still my favorite name. Then when baby number three came along, he decided he loved them name too – but baby turned out to be a girl this time! So I’ll just enjoy the name for your little boy. 🙂

Hope it all works out with the house deal – it just plain stinks, but God has a plan!

Good luck with the house stuff. Hope Irene turns out to East and avoids the coast. She missed us in Florida and I don’t wish that on anyone.

Oh the irony! This is the FIRST time that I have read any blogs from my dashboard since before I left the country at the beginning of August. Upon my return, I posted a short update and said that I wouldn’t be returning until September. I think a “funk” is something that is telling you to give yourself a break. So I did!!! lol Good luck with the house thing. But more importantly do everything possible to prepare for Irene. I live in South Florida. I know hurricanes. Take it seriously. Best of Luck.

Hang in there Cassie. Being in limbo is the worst! Praying that something comes through for your soon. I’m in a furniture slump too…I’m just too busy to get anything done. I feel bad that I’ve been a bad blogger, but I’ve got nothing going on furniture-wise.

I always thought that one of the nice things about living in this area was that we weren’t supposed to have earthquakes and hurricanes! Someone needs to send Mother Earth that memo stat!

I’m so glad you posted your pinterest link! Following!

Thanks for being so authentic and transparent. We all have our funks. Good thing is, they don’t last forever! Relax and enjoy your week. I am sure the house stuff will work out, but I do know the stress involved.

I’m funkalicious over here too. The fact that my cold meds have made me super drowsy definitely isn’t helping me get out of my funk. I hope we will be hurricane free and you get your house!!

I’m sure things will run smoothly once they get going but in the mean time I’m thinking about you!!
So I was thinking the other day it would be fun if you hold a contest (just a something fun, no give away) if you get all of us furniture hoarders to upload pictures of our, let’s call it, “To Do” furniture hoarding stacks, and have you do a top ten of the scariest, biggest, etc your choice. We could all vote then that person gets a shout out post from YOU. FUN TIMES!!

ROFL about broccoli! I love kids comments. Girl you are justifyably in a funk. Moving sucks! I don’t know any nicer more pleasant way to put it. Everything is in dissaray, chaos, life feels like one steady stream of madness and you can’t get organized or settled. You feel like your in a state of limbo and it’s unmotivating. Getting creative is difficult at best. I would say this would be a great time in your life to take a short break, takes walks with your family, cook some comfort foods together with your kiddos, play at the park and just enjoy the little things.
Don’t worry this will be behind you before you know it! Xoxo.
