Kicking off a New Series with So Stinkin’ Cute!

I am so excited today to kick off a new series! Every Friday (or I should say most Fridays) I will have a new guest sharing their projects, rooms, home…anything that catches my eye!  Suzanne from So Stinkin’ Cute recently linked her daughter’s chair up to my link party, and I commented on how lovely it was.  We got to chatting and she shared the entire room with me, and I was blown away!  I had to share it with you all, so I invited her to be a guest today, and then decided we should do this every Friday- don’t you think???

Thanks so much for having me Cassie.  I love Primitive & Proper, it
inspires me, and most of all…I want your Kelly Green dresser, it’s my absolute
favorite color.
My name is Suzanne, and my blog is So Stinkin’ Cute, where I blog
about anything I find to be…So Stinkin’ Cute.  This can include home
decor, new beauty products, my hubby and kiddos, jewelry, and reality t.v.
I recently tackled a king-sized fabric covered headboard.
It was so much easier than I anticipated!  We had left over materials
for a twin sized headboard and that got me thinking…I need to start on
making a Glamour Girl bedroom for my 3 year old daughter.
We definitely needed to keep this under a budget and I prefer DIY
to store-bought…it’s cheaper and you can make it exactly
what you like!
Here is the before….

And here is the after….
Pin

We painted the walls “Smashing Pink” from Benjamin Moore.
The bedding comes from TJ Maxx and all of the fabric for the
pillows and headboard is from JoAnn’s.
The lamps were $5.99 from the Salvation Army and just
needed the right color of spray paint and new lampshades.
The lampshades are from Home Goods, my fave store
ever!
Pin
The bedside tables were black and I spray painted them white
and kept the pulls that they came with…an adorable, white, ceramic flower.

Pin
I also put up some prints behind the lamps.
They are actually napkins…so free! I loved them
and thought they would be perfect for her room.
Pin
Lastly, I found this chair at the Good Will and
painted it and replaced the upholstery.
Here is the before…
Pin
and the after….
Pin
I am an a search for a chandelier and a full length ornate/vintage
mirror.
Pin
Another tip to making any room with a twin bed more
grown up would be to put 2 x 6 boards under the box spring
in the metal bed frame.  It raises the bed height about 5 inches.
Because of the added height, I was able to use a nice tall bedside
table rather than “kid” furniture.
Easy-peasy, don’t cha’ think?

Suzanne, thank you sooo much for sharing Tatum’s gorgeous room with us today!  If you would like to be considered for a Friday feature, shoot me an email at [email protected] with a link to the project you want to share.  Thanks!  TGIF!

This is a beautiful room! I love the pink, the fabrics Suzanne used, her lamps and how clever to frame napkins with that fun print! Suzanne is very talented.
