Yesterday, I showed you all my my French gray dresser which I posted for sale on my online store and posted an ad in my local craigslist just yesterday as well. In my ad I mentioned Juliet and wrote that 10 percent of the sale of that dresser was being donated for her treatments, and that any newly listed furniture items on my website will also have 10 percent being donated. Right away, the dresser sold, and what was more amazing was that the woman who bought it for her nursery wrote to me about a friend she had who went through having a child with leukemia as well, and she and her husband wanted to match my donation. I seriously stared at my computer, dumbfounded by the kindness of a stranger, and just started crying. It was the first sale I have made that will benefit Juliet, and it couldn’t have been to a more compassionate family. I have mentioned before it is really hard to be away from my friend and her daughter, but I am so glad I have found a way that I can at least do something small for them.
Some of you have also asked to be updated on Juliet’s progress. She was supposed to go home from the hospital last week, but had labored breathing on the way home, and had to be rushed by ambulance back ot the hospital, where she is now. Thank you for keeping her and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Let’s get on to POWW faves, shall we? And I know I say it every week, but your talent continues to amaze me! Do you know how hard it is to pick 3 faves? I mean, did you go through all the links? If you did then you know just how hard it is for me!
It was love at first sight for me with this glamorous silver table from Three Boys! I haven’t done anything silver before, but after seeing this I really want to try it!
And Beauty 4 Ashes shared this gorgeous vanity and dresser set she refinished…. Classic with the dark top, and warm white base. You need to go see the before pictures- they were pretty sad! But now, gorgeous!
And finally, Kathleen from Between the Blue and the Yellow shared this gorgeous sideboard as well as some exciting news! I won’t spill the beans here, but hop over and congratulate her while you’re checking out her sideboard!
And one last bit of news… Just under my banner at the top there is a button for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure I am participating in.
