Ladybug Nursery

I am back from my weekend with my girlfriend and her new baby, Kylie.  Isn’t she just adorable!

She is just about to turn 5 weeks old and is so sweet.  My friend, Jenni, is the Godmother to my son, and has been one of the very best friends I could have.  Actually, I was engaged a month after I met her, and I asked to be in my wedding right away.  I told her I just knew we were going to be great friends.  Maybe I creeped her out at the time, but I was right!  I went down to Louisiana to help the new family out, give the parents a break, and make them some yummy meals while I was there (my specialties are turkey meatloaf and salmon with a special sauce I make!).  Of course, there was a bit of unexpected sadness and Jenni’s grandmother passed away the day I arrived.  I was so glad to be there though, because I was able to assist and babysit when they needed it most.  I am not a highly religious person, but I do believe in God.  God was certainly watching out for Jenni and making sure I was there to help her get through the chain of events.  This close friends that would do anything for you are harder to find, and I am so thankful that I have Jenni in my life, even if she is miles away from me.  Anyhow, enough of my mushiness….  I wanted to share pictures of the nursery Jenni set up for Kylie.  It’s just adorable!  She knew for the longest time, even before she met her husband, that if she ever had a girl her name would be Kylie and the nursery would be ladybug themed.   She held true to her wishes, and here is the fantastic room she and her husband put together.

Yes, at 4 weeks old, the child already has an assortment of bows she wears frequently!  A fashionista in the making!

Apparently Jenni received a couple of ladybug pillow pets at her shower.  I found this humorous!

Jenni’s Dad, who built their house, added this corner shelf for them to display cute things….

And this was the gift I brought with me…. I purchased it locally at a craft market from Keylime Designs by Mollie, who makes artwork out of recycled products.  If you are decorating a nursery or child’s room, check her out!  Her work is adorable and unique!  She will also be at the same market as me on Sunday November 7th.
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  I will be back tomorrow with POWW, and will also have another installation of the How Do I Series this week.  Right now I am playing catch up, so bear with me!

So cute! I saw Mollie’s work at the Del Ray art festival last weekend. So cute – my friend wrote down the info for her baby’s room.

Indeed you are a godsend! I cannot imagine anyone better than yourself to take care of their new little one while they were grieving a grandmother. It is so nice to have wonderful friends.

Cassie I can not begin to express my gratitude to you for the past few days! I truly cherish our friendship and I will forever consider you my “TRUE BEST FRIEND”. Days and weeks may go by without us talking but I know when we do talk it is always so comfortable and it seems like not one day has gone by. Thanks again for everything, the great food, even though I am lacking in the kitchen department, the babysitting, the ear just to listen while I grieve. I love you-Jenni

This is such a cute nursery. I know the baby loves sleeping in her lady bug bed.
