Sawyer and his buddy Kiernan |
So this weekend was pretty busy with Sawyer’s first soccer game of the season, and 2 birthday parties. Yesterday was Andi’s daughter Lily’s party (a fun Mexican theme and I am sure I will have some pics to share later!). Today was the party of Andrew, aka Captain CORAgeous. It was an awesome pirate adventure cruise party for one very deserving young man. If you have followed my blog for the last few months, you know that my friend Heather, Andrew’s mom, has two other children, Grace, and Cora who is a 19 month old with Aplastic Anemia and received a life saving bone marrow transplant from Andrew on 9/2/11. When I arrived at the party today, the first thing Cora’s daddy Jeff said to me with a smile was “Well, you have quite the following there on your blog, don’t you?” I said, “Well, I guess so.” And he told me that he had received several checks for Cora from you, my readers. I cannot thank you enough. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you, over and over again. I honestly cannot put into words how appreciative I am, and how touched the family is by your generosity and prayers.
If you wanted to donate to Cora, but would rather process it online, there is now a site where you can do that. Just click here to take you to that site. Heather has also started a blog documenting their journey, which you can access at be CORAgeous.
Today, Heather got Cora’s numbers, which are growing steadily in the right direction, and she is now almost at the level where survival is greatest. So thank you again for your prayers. There is also going to be a “Cruise for Cora” in the Baltimore Harbor on October 21, 2011. If you are local and would like to purchase tickets, please click here.
On a much lighter note, I have received some recent blog awards and wanted to express my thanks for that!
Kristin from Chichi Studio awarded me with the versatile blogger award! Go check out her blog- she is super talented herself, and was the artise behind this beauty I featured a little while back!
