Hi guys! I just wanted to pop in to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I had intended to write another post for this week, but I got sick and Chris was away so it just wasn’t able to happen. This is the last post you will read from me while I am still living in this house as we’re moving out next week, right after Christmas. The last few weeks have been a flurry of activity between packing, making time to see friends before we go, and preparing for the move to North Carolina. It’s been emotional and exhausting, and at this point, I am ready to slow it down for a nice relaxing Christmas at home, one last time.
2018 has been a year of huge changes, and while they are all wonderful and exciting, they have been the big life-changing type. This guy right here has rocked our world in the best way possible. Wilder’s a happy baby who is quick to smile, loves discovering new sounds, and is generally a napper extraordinaire. We couldn’t have asked for a better baby to join our family. I think back on all of the losses that led up to him, and how grateful I am that it happened as it did. Had I never gone through those losses or that period of grief, I never would have met this boy. It would have been somebody else, and frankly, I can’t imagine my life without this one here.
Sawyer and Emmy have grown so much this year as well, and Wilder only helps to bring out the best in each of them. They’ve been outstanding siblings, always there to help when I need it.
As we approach this move next week, Sawyer and Emmy have been absolute rock stars. They’re in 8th and 6th grade, so naturally moving right now is pretty terrifying. They have embraced the upcoming changes and although they’re sad about leaving their friends and the life they’ve known here for 7 years, they’ve remained positive.
We’ve thrown a lot at them this year, and they’ve handled it with grace, and kept us smiling and laughing. I hope that they only know just how grateful we are to them.
Well, folks, signing off until 2019! From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
