Sorry for the delay in getting this post up…. I have been getting packed and lost track of time! Today’s guest is Michelle from Ten June, who is here to talk about a color she knows so well- Yellow! Perfect since my dresser from yesterday’s POWW was a very bright yellow. Michelle has a wonderful eye as you will see from the pictures from her home, and not only that, but a great sense of humor. We have pretty much seen and loved the same movies, and we both know how to drop it like it’s hot.
Hi friends!! I’m Michelle from Ten June. Otherwise known as Cassie’s M-Dawg ๐ So glad to be here talking about color with all of you! And I’ve got a good one… yellow! Or, if you’re a Georgia girl like me- YELLER!
I love the color yellow. I don’t know any other color that is so warm, welcoming and bright.
Here’s a few yellow rooms from my inspiration file.
Check out this insannnnnely gorgeous yellow headboard paired perfectly with light gray walls.
An all-white kitchen with subtle yellow accents in the clay pots and fruit.
Beautiful yellow front door. LOVE it against the dark shingled exterior walls!
Can’t get enough of turquoise + yellow. SO fun! Can’t you see this in a teenager’s room?!
Lots of yellow in this beautiful living room.
At my house, you can see yellow all over the place. Much like the inspirations photos above, I try to use it in different ways, depending on the shade of yellow and the room.
In my living room, the bright yellow Pottery Barn rug steals the show.
I also added a bright punch of yellow in these throw pillows.
I accented the navy blue walls in my dining room with a touch of golden yellow in my new dining room rug.
And I even have a few hints of a pale yellow in the royal blue curtains in my master bedroom.
As you can see, I really love to mix it up- either pair yellow with a nice contrast color, like the navy walls of my dining room, or I even love it just paired with the bright whites and neutrals in my living room. Yellow is really one of those colors that could be used as an accent or as the focus color! It’s just that good.
So how do you use yellow in your home? A bright pop of color? A subtle accent?
I’m sure its warm and sunshiney either way!!! Gotta love yeller ; )
Thanks for having me, Cassie!
