Mother’s Day Wrap-Up

I feel totally overwhelmed right now with things to blog about and projects to share… So this has the potential to be the longest post ever with lots of pictures, but I am only going to share one of the finished projects today!

My husband had asked me what I wanted to do for Mother’s Day.  With the Lucketts Fair just around the corner, I wanted to have the day to work.  I also wanted to fill our planters, and get out all of our garden accessories.  So that’s just what we did!  I finished up several projects… my nightstands, two dressers, a cabinet, and some smaller items.  I’ll share the pink dresser today.  I was amazed last week at what a hit the pink table was last week. I found a dresser that was very similar in style for $30 last week.

Since the nightstand was a hit, I thought I should go for the same look. It’s painted with Annie Sloan’s Henrietta pink chalk paint, and distressed with a paint scraper, by using the side of the blade (rather than the blade) and scraping along the edges.  This piece will be coming to Lucketts with me!

I can’t wait to share all the other pieces I have finished this week!  For now, here are some items we were able to put back out in the garden today.
My garden cart (a $5 flea market find) with my painted pots, which we filled with geraniums and lantana.

This create sign, which was a $5 find at Chartreuse & co last year.

We filled out chair planters with impatiens, as they don’t get much sunlight.

This metal flower was a $2 yard sale find a couple years ago.

I purchased this little fairy for Emmy last year when it was 50% off at Hobby Lobby.

And this pink bunny was also purchased for Emmy last year at Lucketts.  And have you seen my mulch?  I swear it’s there hiding under all the pollen!!!

My mom purchased this toadstool made from a gourd for me last year when she took Emmy to a local Fairy Festival.  I love it!

We had fun getting all that done, Sawyer even got on his bike and rode (he is a very nervous rider, so we are approaching it sloooooowly.)  And the kids presented me with a new Ihome (they broke my old one a couple years ago and I have lived without it since.) I love music, and am sooo happy I can now listen to it again at home!  I plan to purchase Adele’s new CD from itumes!  Chris also picked up this awesome tank for me from Hot Topic since he saw it at work.  How cute!!!

And now, how bout a couple of sneak peeks… I am busy planning an event this week, and found these merry guys for 10 cents each at a yard sale.  They will come in handy!

And here is a little glimpse of another piece I finished today!
Well, my husband is grilling for me tonight, and I am looking forward to putting my feet up and relaxing after working so hard this weekend!

Cassie, I’m so happy that you got to spend your day just the way you wanted! 🙂

That dresser looks fab! I ordered Henrietta, but I thought it was a lavender… hmmmm I guess pink will do.
yard looks great! It’s that time of year that everything looks great. . . before the drought or the HOT days of summer!

    happy mother’s day!

Ooh you are teasing us with keeping all those projects under wraps! I want to see the nightstands! Sounds like you had a productive Mother’s Day.

BTW, Ben is also a pretty nervous bike rider. We have to work at it slowly and usually take him to a paved path at the park so he doesn’t have to worry about cars while he’s learning. Good luck to you guys!

Happy Mother’s Day! You definitely chose a day similar to mine. Working with furniture, but loving it. Your chairs with the flowers look so cute…Funny, I did something similar today with a chair. I swear we are sending mental telepathy to each other sometimes.

I can’t wait to see your stuff set up at Luckett’s….You are definitely going to have the BEST booth there.. Just wish I lived closer so I could come…

    Take care,
    Lisa

Sounds like you had a productive Mother’s Day! I LOVE the pink dresser. First of all, I love the pink, second of all I love the distressing technique you used and thirdly, I love that you left the hardware in it’s original state. Yep, totally love it!

Can’t wait to see what you’re going to do with those gnomes! I think they’d look pretty awesome in your “new” garden 😉 but I’m guessing that’s not what they’re for. Guess I’ll just have to wait and see!
