My Auction Item for Restore Alabama, and Remember My Failed Project?

My lovely friend, Kelli from Restore Interiors, is running some auctions to help with tornado relief in Alabama.  As soon as she said she was doing this, I told her I would love to donate some items to auction off, but I needed to get through Lucketts before I could focus on it.  So when I returned, I chose a few items with a Spring theme.  Kelli has listed them for auction today on her blog, with a starting bid of $20.  Want to see what I am auctioning off?  It is….
a framed vintage postcard,  a ceiling tile butterfly, and a Spring vintage fabric bunting.

.
So I don’t know if you remember a month or so ago I mentioned my failed project that I had done with Andi?  I didn’t say what it was because we were making a birthday present for our friend Emily.  Now, here is the backstory first… One Friday night at Wine & Design, Emily mentioned that her sister in law would visit and was kinda gross and would eat weird things, such as Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal with ketchup.  Really.  She does.  So gross.
Andi came up with a hilarious graphic, and we decided to put it on a shirt for Emily.  At first I bought a white, shirt, and after we ironed on the heat transfer, this is what we came up with….
Oops!
So Andi and I got together again for attempt number 2, and this time we tried a black shirt…. Success!  Here is Emily, holding up her shirt that she loves!
Also, I want to mention that the Race for the Cure is on June 4th!  Please donate to this worthy cause- even a dollar helps!  You can click on the image above this post to make a donation.  Thank you so much for your consideration!

funny shirt! I find that really gross, and I LOVE ketchup! 🙂
The tornado devastation continues before one community even recovers another community is hit hard. It’s so incredibly sad.

The devastation is just so sad. I had tears in my eyes watching these people talk about what they are going through. I can’t even imagine. So sweet of you to donate items. You have a great heart 🙂

So sweet of you to donate items, I can’t even begin to imagine what the people in Alabama and now Missouri are going through. On the other hand your t-shirt is hilarious. Ketchup and cinnamon toast crunch?! Very interesting combination.

These storms have been devastating. I love in the tri-state area of MS, TN, and AR. Central Mississippi was hit hard last month, as well as AL. Just this week, my family lost their restaurant in Joplin. Then yesterday, they ripped through OK, KS and AR again. They are predicting the same weather for our area again tonight. It’s scary and heartbreaking.

I hope people continue to reach out and help these families who have lost friends, family and thier homes. Much respect goes out to those of you that help others in these trying times!
