Update: Linking to Jennifer Rizzo’s Holiday Housewalk Party and the Nester’s Annual Tour.
Hello and welcome to my Christmas blogger stylin’ home tour! I am so excited to be the final tour of the week and hope to end it with a bang for you. To start at the very beginning, head on over to our hostess with the mostest, Lindsay of The White Buffalo Styling Co., and begin drooling as you visit house after house, each unique and full of holiday sparkle.
If you are stopping by from Place of My Taste, welcome! Isn’t Aniko’s home so fresh and lovely?
Today I will share with you my living room, master bedroom, and guest room, as well as some other holiday touches. I am calling this my cozy, eclectic, vintage Christmas tour.
Let’s start in the living room, which is always one of my favorite spaces to decorate because of the mantle, and because we spend a lot of time together here as a family through this season, snuggling on the couch watching Christmas movies, enjoying fires, and gazing at the Christmas tree. (I shot these photos before we actually had our tree, so come back next week to see the tree!)
Our pups have a few features in my tour as well. I mean, Catcher does have that “come hither” look in his eye.
My coffee table has a few seasonal touches, some disco ball ornaments, my DIY stripped & dipped log candlesticks,my white and gold antlers, and a little feather tree my parents gave me.
In the background you can see my favorite part- the mantle!
I was very lucky to find several vintage bottle brush trees this summer, and saved them. The little polar bear was a purchase from one of our Sweet Clover vendors. The jars were a clearance Anthropologie purchase from years ago, and I still love them.
At night, it looks so magical all lit up…
I’ve balance the other end with similar pieces, and added a couple of small vintage deer I found and whose antlers I glittered. The fringe has been up all Fall and it’s worked happily with each incarnation of the mantle, so I’ve kept it up.
Adding to the scene on the mantle is this sweet little vintage bug I found last year. My kids love to play punch buggy, so it makes me think of them.
My brass deer have been on my hearth a while, and I actually moved them! I’ll show you where later, but for now, check out the changes. I placed a vintage blue crate with a little wintery white villag, “snow,” and a disco ball on one side (balanced with my log holder and logs on the other).
I took a photo of this little vignette at night, too… I have the houses lit up and I love this little winter scene. I need a disco ball mountain next to my house.
Our bookcases also have some small seasonal touches.
One of my favorite pieces to pull out each year is the photo of Sawyer as a baby with a Santa hat. The little snowman jars my kids made for me a couple Christmases ago.
One of my kids favorite decorations that has to go out each year is a little wooden ice skating santa- do you spy him on Chris’ desk? Pardon Jake’s rear, too. Lately my sweet old man is slowing down and not moving as well… he was content here so I didn’t want to ask him to move.
On the chalkboard I decided to keep it simple, and to remind us what this season is about… it’s about the giving…. to others and of yourself, giving your time, giving your friendship, and giving your love.
That wraps up the living room, but like I said come back next week to see the tree. You might notice that the fringe from the fireplace moved (and hey, so did Jake!)
Our guest room is one of my favorite spaces to decorate and one I have complete control over. It also features my office area, so I want to surround myself with things I love.
This year I took down the DIY dreamcatcher I usually have over the bed and replaced it with a natural wreath I made from trees in my yard.
I hung the wreath with some glittery leopard ribbon, and in the center I placed papier mache antlers that once hung in Emmy’s room.
On the kilim inspired dresser to the left of the bed, I placed a little vintage inspired snowman collection I have.
I love that they bring in an earthy and amber touch.
The office area received a few minor touches as well. (And shame on me, because I never revealed this space properly! I just use it and then it isn’t photo worthy with my piles of papers….). I filled one of my brass containers with some cinnamon sticks, and my wooden deer are always there, but perfect for this season.
To the left of the desk on my bookcase, the top shelf was set with some fabulous antique furniture pieces and white bottle brush trees.
As you can see so far, I do love those moody colors and contrast, but I want to share with you a light and bright space as well. We’ve recently given our master bedroom a fresh new look with white paint and a planked wall. I’ve added the same vintage flocked tree from last year, but it’s amazing how different it looks in the room now.
I decorated the tree with vintage balls in aqua, blue, and gold, and strung shiny aqua beads on it.
For the skirt, I used a Mexican blanket my mom brought me back from California- the colors are perfect!
I made the topper last year out of a papier mache deer.
I just love how the planked wall looks with this tree.
And the tulip chairs my friend gave me are well loved in this space… They make my heart beat faster.
Well, that is all we have for you today!Come back next week to see more of my home decorated for Christmas. Thank you for joining me and my dogs on this year’s Blogger Stylin Home Tour!
